i used to run through my 20lb co2 tank in about 2-3 weeks
i recently switched the regulator to a little over 2scfh
since then the room has been steady @ 1500 ppms
the room is only a 3x5 closet, this last week i went through a 10 pounder and now it seems like my 20 pounder is done I bought it last wednesday.
another weird thing is that the psi meter reads all the way past 60, it was so far that i thought at first it was done and reading o psi then when i looked it was actually way past 60 to hte point that it hit the stopper.
then when i took the regulator off and turned on the tank i get gas coming out, anybody have any ideas as to what could be up? my psi is usually at about 40 so this has never happened before to me..... if theres air in the tank then it cant be empty right? thanx

Either you have a leak or your rooms venting it out! I use a 20#er in a month with a much larger room 12x20. Recheck your calculations and remember its cubic feet of volume. Figuring you have a 8 foot ceiling you have 120 cubic feet. You don't need as much gas to fill it. Also check your valve connections for leaks with soapy water( look for the bubbles!).

^^Yeah, I'm leaning towards a leak or the bottle wasn't completely full when your bought it (shiesty bottle filler?)

If you're running a vented room, then all bets are off tho as temps will dictate how often the exhaust is running and sucking out all the CO2.

thanx fellas, I took it apart and inspected it all and everything seemed fine, then turned on the tank and there was pressure, im thinking it was low because i did just run out today......

Every 7th or 8th tank i get my regulator does not fit smoothly onto the tank. When this happens, it always runs out quicker. The regulator is over 7 years old so I am not suprised that there may be a few leaks. But most tanks with possibly thicker or newer threads work good with no leaks. My 10x10 foot room uses a 20 pound tank in under 2 weeks. That is actually about average for someone with a room that is "sealed" but in reality not actually fully sealed.
