CO2 Generator Question?

G

Guest

Hey Folks! Does anyone know if it is ok to hang the Blu Ox CO2 generator backwards? I mean hanging it with the Blu Ox logo against the wall and the back of the unit facing forward, like in the pic? I don't know how far to keep it from the wall either. Any answers would be appreciated! Thanks & Peace SW!

There should be enough distance to keep any fire danger to a minimum so 3 feet is the closest I ever used one, and backwards isn't so much a problem as the co2 drifts downwards anyway. I used a fan to re-distribute it over the plants too.

Hey Thanks for the reply badmf! You are full of knowledge! How hot does a CO2 generator get? How much warmer does a CO2 Generator make a room? How much humidity is added to the air in the room when usin a CO2 Generator? Thanks for the help! "This is a self lighting pilot natural gas CO2 generator that I am asking about."
Peace SW

Good questions! The heat produced is higher of course it is a burner, I have seen growers vent the heat out the ceiling and not need to use exhaust fans as much. And you'll need to a/c most likely in summers. The humidity is going to increase as well but its nothing that can't be handled. :canabis:

When i was at the HTCC there was a seminar from Arjan from the Green House. Hes a hydro guy and showed his setup and was talking about Co2 and how useless it is unless your in a small tight space and that if you have a good source fresh intake air then co2 is not needed nor does it help enough to justify the costs for tanks and timers. So i scapped my timers and tanks and haven't noticed a lower yeild or bud size difference. But i have alot of fresh air coming in so just wanted to pass that on before you start heating up your plants ;) Good Luck Jubei

Thanks for the input Jubei! It is much appreciated! I wish there were sum side by side studies that showed for sure what can be expected. Does anyone know of any controlled tests that have been done on this topic? Hmm? Peace, sw

Well I have noticed a large difference but I have loads of light. If you are in a < 45 watts per sq ft set up you won't realize as great an increase as higher ones. But remember open windows let odor out too so be careful!

Hey Okie grown! Thanks for the input! No, unfortunatly it didn't come with a ppm meter. Those suckas are Xtra $$$! C.A.P. makes a controller and a ppm meter that i am looking at, does anyone know of the best ppm meter for a decent price? Thanks & Peace, sw

The green air is nice, but I like the self lighting pilot feature that the blu ox has. Blu Ox sold out to Mega Growth CO2. So I guess all the blu ox are now MegaGrowth. Thanks for all the info guys! peace, sw
