CO2 Equipment for 14'x5'x8' room?

Hi Folks,
Without the use of a co2 generator which equipment would you use to set up a room that had dimensions of 14'x5'x8'?

Thanks for your help,

Blaze

If you don't mind me asking... why don't you want to use a generator? In the not so long run they are way cheaper to use then tanks.

20# bottle, any good solenoid valve (I like the CAP PPM-1) and controller (I like the Sentinel CHHC-1). Having a 2nd bottle standby is convenient.

This is true but don't have the capability of getting the gas line out to the spot.

Thanks for the info Badugi. I took a look at the CHHC-1 at http://www.hydroponics.net/i/133932 by downloading the manual and it definitely looks impressive to say the least. I am sure that the mini-split I will be purchasing will already have a tempstat and my dehumidifier also has that type of measuring capability so I might end up going with their Sentinel CPPM-1 COD Controller http://www.hydroponics.net/i/134315.

Are there any advantages that I don't realize by going with the CHHC-1 rather than the CPPM-1?

Are there any other CO2 controller packages that others have had success with and can recommend?

yea but you can generators off propane tanks the big ones, if i remember right it only took like two big tanks of propane to pull off a decent sized grow. I personally run the 20# tanks reg cap air 4 and sentinel cppm1 and i would go threw tanks like nothing. I dont have ac, that would help keep the c02 in the room longer.

I use (4) 20lb. tanks in my "in & out" room. Cap dual Regulator with IGS-61 Plug n' Grow controller. My room 12 x 10 x 8Ft. Air cooled 6k with (2) 8in.'' vortex fans with a Grozone Temp 1V fan speed controller and 18,000BTU Soleus Mini Split.

In veg when the lights are on 18 hours a day (2) 20lb. tanks last for 7 - 10 days @ 1500ppm

During the 12/12 photoperiod the (2) 20lb. tanks last about 2 weeks @ 1600 - 2200.

Exactly the type of response that I was looking for Kali. It is definitely appreciated.

Couple of questions if you don't mind partner:

1. How do you like the Plug n' Grow Controller? Was it worth the price?
2. What type of hoods are you running? I am probably going to roll with the Super Sun 2's.
3. What are your average temps? I am suprised that an 18,000 btu can handle the 6K. How much did you pay for the mini-split?

Thanks,

Kinda... cost/availability is #1, but doesn't always apply. For instance, the CHHC-1 would cost me only a few more dollars than the CPPM-1, and is more readily / quickly available.

In terms of features, the CHHC-1 can cross-tie certain environmental values together such as light / heat / humidity. Having the min/max reading values in one controller also helps.

Happy to know my :2cents: was useful Blaze. As to your questions about the room, here goes.

1.) The IGS-61 is a little tempramental meaning sometimes i have problems keeping the differential at 50. It keeps raising this value automatically throughout the day which forces me to go in and manually calibrate the unit @ least once daily. The problem keeps persisting and I have tried calibrating the unit numerous times to no avail. In all honesty its on lone from a friend and if I had a choice I would use the CAP controller with overshoot "fuzzy logic".(its about the same price)

2.) Hoods are Sun System Great White/Air cooled.

3.) 4000BTU's per hood is a good rule of thumb for non air-cooled hoods. Since the hoods are air cooled the need for a larger cooling unit is lessened. Also I use an 8"in. Vortex fan to cool each row of 3 lights and this furthermore reduces the necesity for BTU's. Both fans are wired into a thermostatic fan speed controller meaning the controller can control day and night time temps by reducing the speed of the fans to increase the temperature or increase the speed of the fans to reduce room temperature with a simple dial-a-temp feature. This works seamlessly with the mini-split keeping daytime temps between 77 - 80 degrees and night time temps at 62 degrees no matter if the outdoor temp exceed +100 degrees, which they often do. In short whatever temp i set on the mini-split thermostat and the fan speed controller is the temp the room stays consistantly, no questions asked. The unit is from Soleus. check out this link for pricing http://www.airconditioner.com/ dont forget the line-set is an extra 150 - 200 depending on the unit.

Hope this helps my friend. Stay Safe.
