Co2 Burner vs Tank.. which is better?

If you have plenty of fresh air coming in you don't really need extra CO2.

That being said a tank would safer, no heat or water vapor produced. Gas may be cheaper in the long run.
But heat and water vapour is made when burning a hydrocarbon. Then you need fresh air to make sure no
carbon monoxide levels build up.

I say just increase fresh air and save your money. ;)

Yea burners produce ethylene and other toxic gasses too apparently.. what is the best Co2 controller for gas tanks? Thanks for your reply..

I've personally never used CO2 gas tanks.

Anyways, the following is good info to know if you go with a propane burner.

Burner initially produce carbon monoxide. It's converted to carbon dioxide when enough oxygen is present.

Propane + Oxygen → Carbon Dioxide + Water + Heat (about 25 MJ/litre or 49 MJ/kg)

C[SUB]3[/SUB]H8 + 5 O[SUB]2[/SUB] → 3 CO[SUB]2[/SUB] + 4 H[SUB]2[/SUB]O + Heat

If not enough oxygen is present for complete combustion, incomplete combustion occurs.

Gas + Oxygen = Water + Carbon Dioxide + Carbon Monoxide + Heat

2 C[SUB]3[/SUB]H[SUB]8[/SUB] + 9 O[SUB]2[/SUB] → 4 CO[SUB]2[/SUB] + 2 CO + 8 H[SUB]2[/SUB]O + Heat

I don't think I will go with a burner, I grow veganically and am fanatical about purity and ethylene gas sounds unpleasant.. I should probably start another thread then now cause all I need to know is what controller is best and what other equipment I need.. I started a thread asking for help to build a sealed growroom but am very disappointed that no one has replied yet.. thanks again for your help!
