co2 burner staying on

Hello everyone,
I have a Sentinel ICG NG 30 hooked up through a analog Autopilot controller.
Twice during this run I've had the burner stay on after the ppm threshold has been achieved and the relay is off.
I assume it is an issue with the controller, but curious of others have had issues like this. Brand new unit and controller.

I had the old CAP burner and controller, same issues with the relay not turning off. When you get a replacement and send in the old one, the company you bought it from will likely repackage it for the next buyer. Wish I could steer you to a reliable controller but haven't used a burner in years.

Had a friend with a burner and the same issues. I think a tank of co2 with a quality controller is a better option.

Thanks guys.
Done with tanks, hopefully for life. I've had many a regulator freeze up on me. I'm vigilant , so no harm was caused, but it could have been bad. Any controllers you guys do trust?

Frozen regulator usually means that the flow rate was too high (perhaps a leak) or the co2 tank may have been previously used for fire protection and has a siphon tube that delivers the co2 as a liquid to the regulator. easy fix BTW
If all else fails there are regulator heaters available. js.

Picarus, How are you liking the icg-30? I was looking into the vcf-27 by sentinel (i think that's right) and came across this one. Would you recommend it?

It is the first burner I've used so I have no real comparison, but yes, I like it. It came recommended to me and so far I am happy. I actually ended up buying the sentinel controller and it works very well too.

GSFrank, Thanks for the insight. I think you are right about the flow rate. Thats why the regulators were freezing. I used to run a place designed by the owner and it was full of problems. Anyway for the price I don't see how bottles would be a better option for any grower. The burner is a one time buy with reoccurring gas costs only. When I was using bottles I was picking up 5 a week!!! Expensive, time consuming, and taxing on my precious time.
