Co2 and Hydrowater temp.

I have been told the herb cant utilize enhaced co2 levels if the temperature is not above at least 22 cel. and ideally needs from 24.5-27 cel. to have real benefits from the injected Co2.

On the other hand, the roots will burn if the watertemp is above 21 cel.

What does this mean in the real world. No hydro and co2 ?

or do the plants roots tolerate higher temps aswell as the rest of the plant while supplying co2.

From what i read it seems that roots in general does not enjoy high levels of co2.

I have had a hard time solving this. Aint a lot of threads on the subject so I would appreciate informed input.....anyone ?

I have been contemplating same thing long time ago. The Co2 enhancment is utilized only with temps high enough... that is correct. If i recally correctly 29 degree C for 1500ppm. If you select a proper hydro system you should not have a problem. Im runing ebbnflow with 1400ppm and 28degrees. With ebbnflow roots are not constantly in water and DO of water can be lower, tho you want it as high as possible. Its a good thing if you can put REZ in a cooler place and areate it well. With Biobuckets, DWC and simmilar setups you will most probably have problems or using a very strong chiller. Drip to waste is also a good idea.

Take care

Yeah figured it would be a bitch. Cooling the rez while heating the room ....shot... But as is its on a concrete floor so that would help some.

Running a NFT tube system an was wondering if I lowered the waterlevel to mimimum maybe the increased air supply would have too much co2 for root health.

What about aeroponics what about temp and co2 it must be even worse too controlled the parameters for that show.

Guess its the project, I feared it was....shot

im not sure how big your reservoir is but you could get a chiller to cycle your reservoir nutes through to keep it at a constant temp.

I have a 1/15hp chiller that I paid $250 shipped and I cycle my system nutes through it which consists of about 25 gallons. I keep it a 68f but I can dial down to 60F if I needed to. it will keep the nute temps a constant at where I dial it too regardless of the canopy temps in the room.

just a thought.

he Co2 enhancment is utilized only with temps high enough...

that is not true.

at all temperatures, growth is faster with co2 enrichment than without.

there are a couple of charts that show the rate of growth with co2 relative to temperature, but Im pretty sure that the ones Ive seen aren't graphs of cannabis. some plants are more temperature sensitive then others.

with co2, you naturally have more temperature issues as you cant easily vent without wasting your co2. most people who use co2 either
-grow in an unheated space in the winter only (thats what I do) -- or --
-have dedicated A/C systems for their space
-have a chiller for their reservoir, basically a necessity IMO to grow things to their optimum, regardless of co2 or not, but especially with co2.

Very interesting information ! Thanks

I myself tend to go wintergrowing in a cold concrete cellar. I guess that the direct contact with the floor will somewhat counteract the high airtemp.

How often should I vent when using a greenhouse heater. I am currently running a 15/45 minutes 24/7 cycle 15 minutes is more of necessity as I cant find a timer with sufficient number of electronic programmings thus using a mechanichal one with minimum 15 minute interval.

I have ruled Temp/hydro regulation out of the question as its not very applicable in this situation. I am using a dehumidifier and the cellar is naturally very dry espcecially. with a hps burning. So humidity is not a real problem. If 24-29 cel isent needed then it might solve my watertempproblem by lowering the temp to 22-23 cel.
