a long time ago i saw a vid on pot tv and they were controlling mites with co2 gas and it looked quite affective .what is the ppm to do this.and not harm the plants. someone has to know .and for those who say it cant be done think about it co2 will kill you and sprays dont get them all, but no air in the room they die correct :cuss:

High levels of co2 can kill mites, not sure the strength of it though. When you fight them you ALWAYS want at least 2 ways to kill them, like using no pest strips and neem and using something else with it.

You need to mainly make something they have not been exposed too, chances are they are resistant to modern stuff which is why they are hard to get rid of.

thanks stitch that is what i am doing but it gets tuff when you are trying to spray plants in 5 gal grow bags. that are 2 feet tall and their is 50 of them

OMG thank you! i am aware of the fact that it will kill me to .ok so what i think the best plan of attack is to saturate the room and maintain the 7 to 10000 for 30 mins every other day. now i am also thinking that i should do this at night i know that the plants get little to no benefit from the gas but the mites go on the move at night. after the infestation is gone i would do this once a week to prevent the little bastardes from reinfesting .will update asap

i run a closed circuit system w/ co2 and although i dont have mites (knocking hard on a piece of wood) I built my room with the forethought of choking out the buggers with co2. I have always been curious about how much to raise the ppm to. That could get really pricey though if you had to sustain that amount of co2 for any period of time. My room is pretty large and I go thru a large co2 tank in a little less than 2 weeks. it costs me 30 bucks to rent the tank and another 26 to fill it so im looking at at least 80 bucks in co2 a month.

i run it at 1500 ppm all thru the veg and flowering cycle while the lights are on. my room is 20'x 40' w/ 7 ft ceilings.

you might want to rethink doing co2 at night though. if i remember right, i think the plants actually breathe O2 at night. but i could be wrong.

I have heard from several sources that with out the lights on and the process of photosynthesis happening then the plant would not benefit nor get hurt from the CO2. I also have built my room to use co2 as a method of mite control, I have talked to several people about this. The conclusion that I have come to is that if the level is high enough to make you sick 8-10,000ppm then its high enough to OD the bastards. As far as the time goes... I dont think that many insects have super lungs so probably 30 min should do the trick once a week for preventative measure, if you have a infestation I would do this 2x a light cycle once right before lights on and once right after they go off, wipe off all the leaves after the 3rd day of gasin em and get all the webs off them that way you can tell if there gone. IMO
