I have never used one, but a grower did a comparison and found that this gel stuff sucked. Some took, but compared to dirt, cubes, rooters it was way behind. But that was just one grower.

A friend of mine bought some at Osh and tried them side by side with rockwool.

these things are better to preserve clones for strains you want to keep. there are so many variations of this. cuttings take much slower and grow much slower but (roots) but the tops only experience slightly less growth. this not replacement for rockwool but you are trying out a strain but dont want to start a mother this is a good way to go. keeps it around without it getting too big.
