Can't figure this one out..

took a bunch of clones from two different strains.

Both rooted great and i let them develop a fairly nice root system before moving to soil.

Clones from one strain are all in soil now and doing fine..

Clones from second strain (which was feminized) are in soil also, but all but one have died..

Did you use rockwool plugs?
If you transplant strait from plugs to pot the rockwool tends to dry out but the media still looks wet.
I water a small amount right on top of the plug everyday after transplant until I see new growth then let em rip...

Ok mtbazz...need more information what did you use for rooting, ....what kind of plugs. ..what's the strain. ...I don't think it matters about them being fem, I clone fem all the time. .....I believe that it has more to do with what you use and how you used it

My answer would have to depend on what method you used cloning....

im just guessing you used an ez cloner or bubble cloner type cloner. if so you want to transition too a soilless medium such as coco or peat before planting in soil

can anyone tell me why clones in root riot cubes leafs start too yellow at the edges

how do you fix this ? also my m8 opened one root riot and there was small white lumps at bottom of stem?

those white lups will turn into roots. it sounds like you were well on your way to a successful clone until your mate ripped open the rapid rooter

and no there is nothing to fix. some leaves will yellow and wilt away. the key is to develop roots and then new leaves will start to grow. its normal

Hey cheese....you don't fix it, i also use root riot plugs and i root about an 90% of my cut's it's pretty easy bro...just get urself some clone x gel and a nice clean razor blade cut at 45 angle and dip
your clone in the gel only a little it don't take much of this stuff, place it in plug . now i don't know if you use heating matt or not but i don't .you just have to try,and try until you get good at it ...as i think back when i started growing man i can't tell you how many clone's i killed....lol

best of luck

Transplant to medium as soon as you get nubs or small roots. Letting roots grow in the cloner makes it harder to transplant. They will be in a healthier environment outside the high humidity cloner. A large root system with long roots get damaged when you transplant. Good luck. -granger

bucket cloner (5 gallon)

2 gallons of water, 2 capfuls of KLH, pH to ~5.9

cuttings dipped in clonex

after 2 weeks or so everything had a pretty good root system and all cuttings looked healthy. at that point i did what i always do, transplant to soil.

everything that was non-feminized is doing well..

everything that was feminized died except for one that may pull through.

This I took from a post on this site..... I suspect this is your problem....

Air roots (on the right) have fine hairs (soil and rockwool ppl will be familiar with the sight of the fuzzy hair roots)

water roots, like the ones in an ebb and flow table look like spaghetti

the author claims that running a system that supports air roots (fuzzy roots) promotes the growth of these fine root hairs which exponentially increase their surface area and the diffusion rate of Oxygen, water and nutrition.

Water roots have to go thru an adjustment period into soil.....imo

First of all, how did they look when they died?

They looked fine...leaves were healthy, roots were healthy...

as an FYI i've been cloning this way for several years now and have never had a problem moving to soil once the root system was established.
