Clones going through shock?

Is it normal for clones to go into shock when putting them under the big lights/adding nutrients? Most of them have recovered (HEAVY wilting at first!) but the smaller ones don't seem to be surviving, and have almost no leaves left.

(1/4 strength nutrients after a day of plain water. Rockwool clones into coco. The lights are about 3 ft above the plants and there is adequate airflow.)

Yes! You have to acclimate them to the new lighting first.

What size lights are at 3'? I'd say if its a 400w then that's ok, but still too close if its a 600w or 1k. Clones are usually grown under flouros so pretty much anything will shock them. I use my light meter and usually my 400w is around 3' above new clones and its STILL twice as much light as when my flouros were 2" above them.

And you should never feed rockwool or coco with plain water. Always at least something (like the 1/4 strength you're doing now)

did you run the clones under a dome the whole time? could be they are having problems adjusting to low Rh and the wind from the fans. it could also be shit coco:dunno:

You need to harden them off first, slowly over a few days let them adjust for a few hours a day and increase it each day to cut the risk of shocking them all at once.

I grow rather large plants under t-5s. Certain strains need me to raise the light rather high for the first couple days of flower. My old partner experienced the same thing as you with the clones...I told him he probably had too much light on them and now everything is fine.
