Clones are swollen

The base of my clones that are about 5 days old are swollen at the base...is this normal before rooting?

What is your medium? Check for a bacteria / fungus attack. I am a pretty good grower but I have fucked up so many clones it is embarrassing. Most of the time it is bad bacteria. I use rapid rooters now, I know they are apparently inoculated with goodies but I often add extra tricoderma or just dunk em in SM 90.
Swelling can be a good thing, but most of my very successful runs (90%+) stems dont change much, the roots just pop from the rooters.
