Clones... Any Hope Here?

OK - I cut these just before sending my plants into flower (12/15/06), and here's what I have as of today (12/31/06):

Tops look pretty good still, but:

I've only got 1 root from this clone, and:

If the light were just right, you'd see a t-i-n-y little hair coming from the node on this one.

I started using the "Lazy Cloning Method", just stuck it into some growing medium... but nothing happened after a week, so I built the bubbler, re-trimmed the clone - they've been in there since. These little ones are about 12" away from a 13W cool-white CFL, 18/6, temps are in the mid 70's (sits next to my furnace).

Soooo, am I beating a dead horse here... should I just be patient????

i say just be patient... but im new, with only a couple of cloning attemps behind the belt

Be patient sweetie. :joint: They look good, you are really doing a good job with all of this.

I did the same thing, just stuck them in medium but seemed they weren't doing a thing so I made a bubbler and put them in there.

Why do you only have two cuts in that big ass container? I'd get some more sites...and get more cuts in that sucker....

This way you have way more than you need rooting...pull the fast rooting babies and select the healthiest....

...then toss the shit

Hey POMH... sooo, where do you think I got the bubbler design from - I've got great teachers!!! Your bubbler thread is really great! Thanks as alway for the encouragement - you're the best!!

Yo VanGrow & VT - yeah, I have plans for the future, my bubbler, and those 2 holes in particular were as an emergency stop-gap... definitely have room to, ehem, "grow", in that bubbler, eh?? This is my 1st grow, and clone attempt.

Talk to y'all next year!! Have a happy one!!!!

I have found temps/humid to be very important when your trying to get your cuttings to root....

A little cold(say 60 deg)And it will add time onto the whole process...
Even colder at say 50 deg and looking at a much longer wait..They will not die, just not root!!!
Temps i like to root in would be about 85(even 90)(tho i only use a low watt light(40 watt))

The reason i mention the cold
Is because at diff times of the year(least where i live(in UK))I have to alter my rooting process....
Simple example is in the summer U can get your cuttings to root outdoors(or in a greenhouse)It is a foolproof time for getting cuts to root....

out of season tho,And u have to alter your methods.

Really it should only take 7-10 days before there rooted and ready to start veggin...And for me this comes down to the temps(as i say to cold and you add weeks)

Also
As was said
If you want to grow 2 plants,Take 4 cuttings(can bin the other 2)
Also try diff methods(keeping in mind your after a warm/humid area)As i say some u would use at diff times of the year.
Like for me now it is winter(and another 2-3 months of bitterly cold weather to come)....I know(from last year)If i use my veggin area in my shed to root my clones,They will take ages coz it is so cold out there(even with lights on)

So i cut a cheap kitchen plastic bin in half,40 watt light thru the lid
And my propergater(and a thermometer)And put it in my airing cuboard. Also i dont mist the plants,Only the sides of the prop lid

Will have to use this method untill the weather outside warms up a bit(in spring)Then can use a diff Location(the one i use now will be to hot)

Lol k just waffleing now
Bottom line for me
Get your temps/himdity sorted(is my opinon)

Good luck m8
And dont be to disheartened..Least u DO have a root there*smileS*

I2kan, your doing better than I for sure. My 4 cuts finally died. :badday:

Gonna try some more in the bubbler & also bought some Oasis cubes, the shop keep here recomended.

I am just now currently trying to kill my momma plant again anyway.
Flushed it with water & transplanted, now she is getting all light green.
I am about to post a pic of her in "hospital" thread. I am not sure if I should have renuted her.

Peace, Luv & Nugs

Geeze Sunset - bummer! Keep trying!!

Thanks Thor, I'll be patient, and perhaps take some of Tune's sage advice and try to figure out a more humid, warmer climate for them. They seem to be holding their own right now, I'm a couple of weeks into my 1st flower, so I'm really good with them taking their time in rooting, actually!!!
