cloner question

Hi, i want to construct a 12 site aerocloner out of a 3 1/2 gal bucket. i was wondering if a 130 gph pump( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002HFTKW/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER )will give me enough pressure to work the replacement ez clone 360 misters... thanks in advance

yes that do the job i have use the aero cloning system and it is the fastest and best for the biggest roots systems which means bud check out the section on cloning in this site

Bookmark this thread for future use. Specifically pay attention to the comments on EWC. Units of this type are infamous for complete failure after 2-3 sessions so keep it clean, clean, clean. A 5% bleach solution will do though EZ and Aero clone users may have better ideas.

Just be careful. Baby roots are delicate. Beware of "hot" soils. At this point, media should be close to inert. Being a non-soil guy, I'll let the soil people direct you to or away from specific products.

When you transplant from an aero cloner, you want to make sure you have a good healthy root system with lots of roots. In soil I would imagine you just put some soil in the container, put your clone in and carefully bury in dirt.

Sure. Just dig a nice wide hole in your medium (i use coco, but it's the same in soil/soilless). Drop your roots carefully into the hole. I try to spread them out a bit, i don't just stuff them all in there. Sometimes the roots will be a bit long, in which case i just snip a bit off the ends with clean scissors.
After that, i fill the hole, being careful not to twist or turn the cutting so the roots don't break off on the soil/coco. Tamp it down a bit, but don't cram the medium in there.
I've noticed that the cuttings seem to do better if i keep the medium wetter than usual for the first few days. (I assume it's because they're accustomed to being in a very moist environment until this point.) Whatever the reason, i use plain water during these first few days, (i add 1/4 strength B1 or superthrive if they are yellowing) and keep the medium wet.
Then, when i see new growth on the tips, i go to a normal schedule of watering and full strength nutes.

Yep what they said there on point. One peice of asvise make the cloaner bigger than ya want so ya have extras to pick from when ya clones pick the best or strongest when its time too and throw the rest away

getting back to the original question--my cloner has a 300gph pump. and its not to big. i think for the extra 5 bucks or whatever id go bigger. watch the res temps in the summer, and youll love it!
