Clear/Transparent Box for a Cloner?

I have a perfect box for my aero cloner project.
Only one thing left thats still bothering me.
The color of the box is milk-white, clear/transparent. How bad is this for the roots? Or does is still work fine? Anybody actually tried using a box like mine?

Thanks for any help!!!

If you truly desire to learn HOW to successfully grow marijuana don't do it half-assed. Roots really don't care for light. IF they did then every nursery in the world would be using clear, transparent or translucent planters pots instead of black or dark colored plastic. True? And with the exception of display models in Hydro Shops the cloners are nearly completely light resistant.

And yes your Grandma used to put cuttings in a glass of water on a window ledge to root them. That was then and this is now and Grandma wasn't raising vegetable matter that sells for $250-$600 an ounce either. LOL

Remember that you are embarking on a trip, from seed or cuttings, that can last around 4 months (indoors) or more----------start off on the right foot and you will minimize or eliminate problems and wind up with grows that you can be proud of.

Peace and happy growing,

Ty-Stik

I used a transparent sterlite container..i just painted mine. You could also use duct tape or somthing similar, just something to block light.

There you go-------mine is a green 10 gallon Sterlite tub & lid with black rubberized paint applied to the outside only. Never could figure how these Horticultural equipment manufacturers could take such a simple device, make it look a bit different and justify sticking a 3-400 dollar price tag on it. Oh well, the folks that buy them are probably the same bunch that pays $1.75 for a bottle of tap water with a fancy name on it. LOL on that one.

I will paint it and then wrap some duct tape around it. Hope this does help. I'll report here in a couple of days, if it worked out... thanks again...

If you are just cloning, it won't really matter. The only reason it will matter is if you are adding nutes to your cloner. Other wise, using a clear container will work to your advantage in order to stop you from looking to see if you have roots. But by using an opaque or light protected container will allow you to add nutes once they root.
