Did you look at them through a scope? I like my plants all cloudy in the trichs, but that does not mean they are done by that alone. Take into consideration the time, the color of the trichs, the pistils being withered and dead and the smell and feel of stickiness.

don't have access to a 'scope but i would say that over the crop they are 50% of the pistils are withering (with some colour) 10% withered (deep red) and the rest (mainly on the top cola) are white.

wish i had scope :(

hey thunder i wouldn't worry at all as i too noticed somthing close to that with my Blueberry / northern lights and it just seems that the buds get spurts of growth in the last couple of weeks that while some pistils are withered and have changed color while the newest bits have the lighter hairs . as i look at your pictures it looks like harvest time

To be honest, I would take off a small bud and let it dry on your pc screen top for a couple days and sample it. There are still a lot of healthy pistils there, allthough not every strain completely withers and dies either. How many days have they been flowering?

thunder... did you take some cuttings? cut and harvest it and you will knnow for next time with your clones. Better then waiting too long. BTW. I havested 2 this week. you were a week ahead of me when we started. I noticed and have been watching the trichs daily, the plants just seem DONE when its time. Alot of the fan leaves on the buds have yellowed and fallen off and the plant looks sort of sparce. BTW I may have hit 20 percent amber if not they were 95 percent cloudy at least. I harvested one monday which were mostly cloudy..

i would leave that a bit longer....if 60% are withered/ing then it'll be time soon doesnt quit look ready in your pic...but im lookin at it through a magnifying glass lol. i'd say pick some and try it, or else leave it less then a week...that'll be more than enuff time

i've taken samples over the past two weeks and i can say that it is a nice smoke.... all the advice i have seen on this forum for newb's is "if you think it's done wait a few more weeks.." it's been two weeks since i thought they were ready... i can happily wait...
going up there in a few minutes and i think i will take some pictures. pop back if fancy a look

Hey guys.... Im new here and slow if you know what i mean... I have a quick question maybe you can help guide me in the right direction. What does it mean if your pistil turn brown too soon on lower buds.... like 14 days in?

It could mean early pollenation, another words either the plant itself is a hermaphrodite or there is a male or herm in the vicinity, thats the most common cause for pistils turning that early. There could be environmental aspects like the light being too close and discoloring the pistils but genetically speaking,I've never seen pistils start to turn on 2 weeks of 12/12 unless pollenation occurred.Hope I'm mistaken bro.

It means they have been pollenated. Either by a male that was left to long or more than likely a hermie (male flower) on a higher branch internode or bud.

Thunder that girl is done .. she will ripen more as she hangs and dries. Don't forget 24 hours of dark period.. :joint:  oh yea GREAT JOB... :yummy:

Bad luck daddy07.. i am always paranoid about that stuff and only use feminised seeds. Hope your grow isn't a bust.

I hear you... after extensive magnification... nothing. what i am looking at is a poor sativa pheno of a kc brains mango.

im wondering if it could just be poor genetics... it was the only one that germed out of the pack!!
