classical music appreciation

i have searched hi and lo and i found very little classical music appreciation, so i thought it might be a good addition.

lately i've been listening to a lot of william walton, and jean sibelius. some of my favorite composers are chopin, debussy, bartok, tchaikovsky, prokofiev, mussorgsky, schumann, stravinsky, penderecki, ligeti, and of course, the beatles of the baroque period, johann sebastian bach.

anyone else? even if all you know is mozart, SHOW SOME LOVE!!!

Yes, I enjoy the classics, especialy Bach, Mozart, chopin, Brahms, and Handel. Music is math dancing.

That's how I taught my son harmonics, by division points on a string between anchor points. He didn't get it 'till I talked about it in math terms.

Frequency ossilations and the physics of sound are all math-based. Too many musicians say they hate math, then use it every day in their playing!

Back on topic. Love the classical. My kids never know what will be on the radio when they get in. It could be anything from NPR to the local talk station. They like the UF college station the best....

hey, glad to see u guys here. too bad there arent more, though.

been to any live performances? its really something else to see and hear 2, 3, even 400 year old pieces of music being played. and it sounds AMAZING!

btw, i cannot STAND math

not everyday, but once in awhile.... i did go through a streak when I was young, had nice system in auto and pounded some Vilvaldi, crazy stuff........insane when loud and in closed space like that, you pick up so much more, of course the buzz helped also, but damn, I am going to pull some really old school stuff out now............thanx for the thread.
