Classic Oatmeal Cookies
Here is a cherished recipe from my mothers collection. I've decided to share it with the community, I hope your family enjoys them as much as ours does. I use black out butter to make these for patients, you can adjust the potency of the product to your personal needs.
Preheat oven to 350*F
Cream
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup Black Out Butter
Add
1 well beaten egg
Mix and Stir
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
Mix in
2 cups of instant oatmeal
Grease 2 cookie pans and use a teaspoon to portion the cookies equally. allow 1-2" of space between each cookie. I can get 64 cookies from 1 batch.
Bake in oven for about 10 minutes, or until edges of cookies begin to turn golden brown. Do not overcook!
Depending on the potency of your butter these cookies can be 1 hit wonders or a mild snack, so play with the BOB ratios to figure out what works for you. Enjoy!!
