I've been meaning to do a report on this strain for a while as its been a keeper in my garden for 3 or 4 runs and I'm still excited about growing it. I'll start off with a few pics from the garden and then we'll move on to the fun part .
These plants were grown in a mix of either coast of Maine/perlite or with 50/50 FF light warrior and ocean forest (can't remember what i used for this run). Vegged for 6/8 weeks from seed and flowered in 3 gallon pots under a 600w. This picture was taken around 40 days flowering...
In this picture you can see her right up front, it's the purple plant. This plant will purple if left go for more than 70 days although after experimentation i find that it's best right around 65-70 days.
The last run of this plant was a sog flowered under 1000w on a mover and grown in one gallon pots. Unfortunately the last grown had some issues and the yield wasn't up to par with previous grows but i still pulled about 14g from each very small plant. Overall I would say this plant is a average yielder but the quality of the smoke makes up for the slightly lower yield.
Here are my samples for testing
Visual appeal is high on this plant due to the incredible frostiness that can make some buds look white. Opening the jar the fragrance is potent and thick. There is def a sourness to the aroma but there are more layers and breaking up the buds reveals a candy sweetness that makes my mouth water.
The first hit is like inhaling a jolly rancher but more subtle and mellow. The exhale leaves that diesel fume flavor on my tongue. I would say the flavor of the smoke is one of my favorite things about this plant. The sweetness takes the edge off pure diesel smoke and adds some interesting contrast. The smoke is smooth and this is one of those strains that if flushed and dried well is still excellent without much curing. The odor becomes very intense after a long cure but is still strong right after drying.
I can feel the diesel high hit my head after the first hit almost always. One to two good bowl hits can put me in relaxed mellow place for riding around running errands or painting. Any more than that and i'm usually in kitchen making a HUGE meal or checking out icmag from a couch After the initial slam the a11 and c99 influence comes through in waves that start at my feet and end at the top of my head. It's a very happy high (strong head and body) but you may not want to be a place that is too public if you know what i mean. I don't get paranoid but I could see someone getting that after 4 hits. I am much more prone laughing fits and cliche stoner thoughts on this weed.
Smoking a bowl of this if grown correctly, i commonly see small melt on the bud on the first hit and the nug can also flame up like a ball of hash might. Scissor hash and screened hash are both full melt.
The only drawback to this plant is a slow veg and lower than average yield, but otherwise an incredibly solid strain all around. Out of 4 or 5 females I got from a pack of ten, this one is my favorite. There seemed to be a lot of variation from plant to plant but I actually enjoy that in seed crops when looking for something new.
Thanks to GratefulHead for the excellent work!!
