Well we come from all walks of life around here, Just wondering if there are any fans of christian alternative out there? I like the positive message and not a lot of the stuff I listen to is "preachy". Its subtle. I like it.
some of my fav bands are skillet, tenth ave north, Red, Devil Driver, Flyleaf, thousand foot krutch, Lifehouse, really too many to name.
So what about ya'll?

i used to like bands like DC Talk, lifehouse, etc

i stick more to Michael W Smith, just more of what fits me...hits more emotion than rock rock if you know what i mean..

some songs you should check out by MWS (which, by the way, is cool as EVER when youre stoned!)

michael w smith:

- missing person
- kentucky rose
- i believe in you now
- hey you its me
- worth it all (the guitar at around 50 seconds into it rocks!)
- i will carry you
- reach out to me
- everybody free (heavy bass line!)

for more worship based,

- open the eyes of my heart
- let it rain
- awesome god
- step by step
- you are holy

so many to name...check him out if you havent yet!

One of my best friends is a long time Christian and about the only band i have heard him play that really grabbed my interest was Bride (not really alternative...but they rock pretty hard).

He also rants and raves about Mylon Lafevere (sp?)...again...not alternative...but about the only names that ring a bell from christian rock world.

True story.
Many years ago, damn, maybe over 20, my super religious friend convinced me to go to a concert with him, it was Armored saint, and Striper, I thought, ok, I'll go for Armored saint and to make my friend happy.
Striper comes on after Armored saint, everyone's getting all excited, people are wearing there homemade black and yellow striped outfits, they do a couple songs, and I'm just not into it, and everyone else really is.
Were in the third row center of this auditorium, and I'm just standing there(everyone's standing and jumping around)with my arms crossed waiting for it to be over, and the singer stops singing, points at me, and throws his arms up, so, not wanting to be the victim of some kind of mass Jesus beat down(EVERYONE is looking at me) I throw my arms up too and shout Yeah! or something, and he cheers and pumps his fist in the air, throws me a little bible, and starts singing again. Everyone around me was patting me on the back and stuff, I just wanted to go home, lol. Oh well, it was an expierence.
I've heard some Christian Alt stuff that is ok.

You know it was Ok, Armored saint Kicked huge ass! About 40-50 headbangers seemed to appear out of nowhere when they came on, and rushed the area right in front of the stage, they stayed there the whole time AS was playing and then left before stryper came on, I thought that was kind of funny.
