I've read about this before and seen the pictures. I was also unlucky enough to be encouraged into watching a video of it, not knowing what it was going to be.

I can't believe people are doing this though. I thought people had empathy and actually cared what others felt. I apply the same care to animals as I do to humans, and I could never hurt either without a damn good reason. It makes me feel sick.

I'm not condoning it but seriously they are lions, they eat animals. I can see how one might be offended by the glorification of the kill but at the end of the day I don't really see how this differs from feeding time in a western zoo or you or me going to the market to pick up some chicken or a steak.

Did you read the article? There is a lot more than just feeding the lions--
They are using it as a recreation, to amuse their kids...and also there is a lot of other abuse in there--
Lions do not require "Live" meat, as say, a Snake does--

Ok the chicken dangling is a bit harsh, but no harsher than battery farmed chickens in our glorious nations....

Furthermore just because a lion doesn't require live meat doesn't mean it's morally questionable to provide it.....them shrink wrapped steaks in the store were live meat once too.

Like I say, I DO think it's kinda wrong making a show of the whole spectacle but I'm just saying there's far worse things going on in the world.

Oh yeah, the sensationalist reporting of the daily mail is fucking atrocious anyway, I despise that hack paper.

The lions are also quite underfed and malnourished...you can tell from the photos.


Chinese are notorious for appaling attitudes towards animal cruelty....this is not surprising.

I can't even imagine taking a child that young to see something like that. Isn't that like traumatizing? Chinese do all kinds of sick shit to animals, like cook alley cats and sell em Kung Pow Chicken, with a side of rice for $10.95

Damn. I didn't think much of the feeding of live animals, since the meat has to come from somewhere anyway, but serving bears, lions, and tigers as meat is fucked. Same with tying a tortoise's neck so it can't retract it's head when you throw coins at it for good luck.
