The college kid called it Headband mostly but did call it Chemdog and it was like 13 years ago when none of that really mattered to me and I always messed up and called it headstrap. I was just after good weed.
I was researching all this chemdog and og kush stuff before I shelled out major cash on some seeds. That is when I saw Chemdog was called Headband and I said, That is what that California kid called his weed. So I figured I would buy the Chemdog x Kush because the Headband that I had was real good with zero tolerance buildup (at least back then) and quite frankly my seeds are about 13 years old and I was worried about germination. Funny they never interested me before and now they are my most prized pssession. They have been perfectly preserved though and look nice. They pass a squeeze test too.
I never got any of this stuff to breed. I bought all this to smoke and give to friends. I was going to make seeds to give some away but I am not a breeder. And I would have never hid where the genetics came from.
I am really all about smoking.
I will stand my ground on this though. Money talks and bullshit walks. I always have cash in the pocket because you never know what you will run into. When you smoke weed and buy and sell antiques it pays off. People need money at times and they will sell family heirlooms to get it so why wouldn't someone sell a cut of chemdog without permission? Loyalty to chemdog or braces for little Billy?
Clones were sold without Chemdogs knowledge, cuts were stolen off growing plants and all because somebody with cash got somebody to do it.
And other people have chemdog but not even know it is chemdog just that it is a clone of some seeds of good weed they got from some mountain biker.

Im with you on that T of THC! It isnt hard to grow grade A pot....you just have to do it. And start with some good seed. Peace!

Flaunting cash. Well I wasn't trying to do that. I drive a 1996 Chevy. I don't have kids and my line of work and hobby requires me to carry cash. How in the heck is buying weed flaunting cash?

My priorities are my wife, weed and antiques in that order. I am not rich. Excuse me for having some spendable cash and just being a recreational smoker.

Thanks for the negitive k you sent me. Your an asshole who thinks you and everyone else deserves to have the Dawg. The Dawg has been closely held since 1991 and is just being passed around now. You are lucky to be able to get a chance to get it now. Having an attidude like that gets you nothing. Nothing in life is easy or for free. It's earned. Having some good karma, luck, friendship, patience, and a stable of elite clones that you can trade. may bring you the Dawg. Crying about it won't.

Well, I'm kinda bummed that Tarzan left. I hate to see any grower give up a site as bottom line we are all on the same side even though we might have a difference of opinion. I do hate to see more confusion added to the whole Chemdog debacle though. He was right about something though, chemdog was being grown before the 90's but the part he didn't get was it WASN"T CALLED CHEMDOG. That is one mystery that I don't think will be solved as if the people who had it were still around I think we would have heard from them at some point. Shit, those growers could be dead, in jail, lost the clone or just given up growing weed and got into politics or sumpin.
One thing I've got to say is I have a great deal of respect for the growers who've gotten the clone and honored their word. In one of Tarzan's post he said something like why not just sell the clone and break your word and make a buttload of money but the thing is your word should be more valuable than money. I don't see what is so hard for some people to understand about that. Most people have a moral compass inside themselves that tell them what is right and what is wrong and it has nothing to do with fear of getting caught or fear of reprisal. Breaking your word should be on everbodies list of things that they know is wrong but some people do it anyhow. It makes me happy to see how many stand up people there are. For the people who aren't fortunate enough to have any chemdog genetics, please, just be patient. It is only fair to let Chemdog have a chance to be involved in getting his strains out to the public.
I'm sorry if I've strayed off the original topic, I still think that somehow a mislabled clone was at the bottom of the problem. I seriously doubt that any grower error was involved, I think somewhere someone made an unfortunate mistake when labeling cuts.

As to what Tarzan is saying - I agree with the consensus, and while it's entirely possible that Tarzan somehow got seeds from the same bud the Co. Bikers grew, way down the line...it's not quite the same as what CD has been working with for over a decade. And it's not all that likely either. So, if you think it smokes and tastes very similar to Chem that's great, but just call it something else. Bottom line is that they aren't from confirmed cuts of any of his dawgs, or seeds found in those boys bud.
And I don't know why people question the lineage of Chemdawg. It's been explained over and over, to a T, by several close friends who all say the same thing. It's not a conspiracy or anything, and there's no reason to doubt it. I cringe when I read all this chemdawg drama. Four years ago, my friend first walked into the room and told me he had just got some bud called "Chemdawg" I thought "what a funny name" and he proceeded to tell me the same, albeit watered down, story that JJ, CD, and JB have all said. He explained how bud from CO. made it out to our area, and that's where Sour Diesel was born, etc. This was just as sour diesel was becoming popular, and it wasn't until recently that I read the same exact stories on this board.
I see now that Tarzan is gone. Oh well. Glad that's over.
