Chem D IBL Male...

I'm curious if there are any distinguishing characteristics I should be on the look out for?

I popped a pack of these & all that came up was this male. Think my soil was too heavy & killed the rest so this must be some real stud.

Anyway,
He's got a nice branching pattern & fairly tight node spacing. He's pretty short but he's also only about 6-8 inches under the t5s. (Nodes really stack up this close to the light)
I'll have to check the stem rub later as the lights are out at the moment. Maybe snap a pic of him too.

I'm curious what yall Chem heads thoughts are?

whenever i choose males i just look for characteristics i want to pass on. any branching, flower structure, smells, leaf patterns. i also top and while i'm waiting to collect pollen i see how it grows after you top it.

outdoor in greenhouse my chem d male got seven feet tall and four feet wide and looked very much like a Christmas tree.
stalk was >2"+. flowers everywhere. strong side branching.
smell was dead skunk upon stem scrape.

was hoping to find pics to no avail.

Thanks for the replies folks.

Stem rub reveals a deep dank semi skunky/chemical aroma. It's beyond description for me. It certainly doesn't smell like my dirty feet or a dirty hippy but the aromas are very strong.

Seed soak happened on 12/26 and she was topped at the 6th internode. I also trimmed the two bottom branches off, leaving me with 8 branches. I plan on cloning the bottom 4 branches so I can have pollen later on down the road, as long as his progeny performs well.

Since this is the most expensive plant I've ever bought I thought I better at least try to get some good use from him. Hehehe

At this point I've got a BB Sat x Af/HI that he is for sure going to spread some love to. I also have 5 Daywrecker/C99 seedlings that the girlies are going to get a lil lovin from this dude.
A friend has a CaliCon Headband that's also going to get nailed.

I have a few seedlins I'd like to put against this male as well. I'll refrain from listing them until they're actually seedlings. I've had bad luck germing seeds after I mention a project I'd like to try out. I blame myself for making newb mistakes.

The ultimate test to me is flowering out the male. I saved my Chemdog IBL males as well. I had one that had flowers almost twice the size as the others, and was right in the middle on height and stretch, haven't met the kids yet. But if you grow enough males into flowering you'll start to recognize the differences. Every plant is unique, but I always pick a male based off of flower/cluster size, crystallization (males will have some), and structure.

It is pure male, same pheno like the Dogon's one. I found it in a stock from 2010. Will have a date with GG#4 soon

I've seen with my eyes dr.P's ChemIBL Male and WOOOOOOWW ... his plant brought a lot of resin on the male flowers, too!!! Never see another male in flowering comparable with this one...

I personally grow a lot of genetic-lineage obtained with this fantastic male...not more words of FUCKING HOT MATERIAL !!!

The structure of flowers (high density), an high amount of resins and the abundance of the crop are often observed in the seeds we've tested and we're testing nowday.

My male was from Rez's Chemdog ibl 2010 pack. There were just 2 females, so I had "big" number of males to chose the right one

I have never flowered him under the lights, just on the winter window, so I would say it would be much more frosty under the light.

Structure is bad ass... nearly perfect!

I dig the fact that he's so big in that .6 gal container and not flowering at all... I know for a fact this dudes feet are tied up in that tiny container. He must feel like some of those Japanese women with her feet all bound up for the sake of beauty.
