Hi people! This is my first grow thread on these forums and I hope to make some friends.
ok on with the grow!
Lemme see if I can get these image tags to work...Here is the seeds:
3912SDseeds-med.jpg

8 seeds went into the moist warm papertowel, and then into some seedling mix and 4 days later blammo:
3912SDhedbab.jpg

3912SDprimbab.jpg

they are in small 15-20oz containers...I will be using 2 kinds of bat guano (high-N and high-p), glacial rock dust(0-0-1), and wormcastings later on after I transplant for ferts (organic).
As of today 8/8 germination. One of the tiniest seeds I have ever seen in my life has just sprouted...with a little help. It was just sitting there not doing anything. After 4 days of doing nothing, I picked it up and squeezed the sides of the seed, just enough to split the shell at the seams. And low and behold, 12 hrs later, the little bugger threw out 1/4" taproot, so into it's little (makeshift) seedling pot it went..maybe I'll get a baby pic of "tiny" when it pops it's head up.
All plants are now under 2 2ft high UV flouros, after they get too big for that and a coupla compact flouros I will put them in my flower room under 400w HPS. It has an agromax enhanced spectrum bulb that has been through 2 grows already. Flower room is 5.5 x 2 x 2.5feet.
I'll try to take some awsome shots throughout this whole grow, and keep this thread updated. Thanks people. :headbange

Plenty of room Spankin' Elvis! Glad to have you around! :canabis:
Rezdog- You are a hero! Welcome! I hope you enjoy! Thanks for the "magic" beans!
Bigmo- :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: closer eh? This is as close as I can go, any closer and you'd have a hard time figuring out what you are looking at(not to mention the insanly narrow focus range):

Check out the stem at this magnification, it looks like a freaky rosebush! Talk about Jack and the beanstalk!

I didn't even have to trade in a cow.

Hi guys/girls! Welcome, welcome

Smokey- Thanks, I hope the smoke is going to be as good as the anticipation! I will be taking clones from all these plants! There is no way I'm gonna leave any chance that I won't get the best mom possible from this grow. I just got pretty much everything I need to make an aero cloner. So the outlook is good.

hansel, visone & Rabid Peach-Thanks for the compliments! I use a refurbished 5 MP Kodak Easyshare (model=dx4530) digicam, I also got add-on closeup lenses (adapter sold seperatly)...the camera has a 10x zoom (3.3x optical and 3.3x digital), the lenses are 10x and 7x. 17x if you stack them. A tripod is necessary to prevent shaking, and good lighting is a must for clear pics!
Bigmo- :yummy: :yummy: :yummy: I am having a hard time curbing my enthusiasm as well!

Everything is going quite well in the garden so far. The tiny seed has even poked above ground. Although it still has yet to shed the seed shell from it's seed leaves. I also added a 20w CFL to my dual 2ft tubes to make sure every one of my babies was getting optimum lighting..I use high UV output reptile bulbs, a bit more expensive, but they work great for veg!
Until next time :joint: :smoke:

Those are some killer close ups. Can't wait to see some flower pics. How do you like that Kodak? You don't see many people useing them.

Hello guys
Maistre- Thanks for stopping by and leaving the kind comments and well wishes!
clearcutter-bummer waiting I know...but the 80 or so days flowering time demands patience be at a premium! About my camera- I love it! I paid barely $300 (refurbished from e-bay) for the whole shebang, and with the lenses I got it seems to hold it's own against cameras 2 or 3 times it's price. At 5 Megapixels you can print a 5x7 and still not see any pixelation. The only thing that kinda sucked is that it does not come with rechargable batteries...you have to buy the camera dock seperatly, it comes with one. I highly reccommend one if you are in the market!
Thanks for the compliments people!

update

update

here's the latest pics (from yesterday):
SDprim215.jpg

3912SDgdn215-med.jpg

SDgdnlht215.jpg

I should be transplanting before you know it into 2.25 gal (8.5L) containers I was thinking of cutting off the bottom of one and stacking it on another giving each plant 4-4.5 gal of soil, unless I get tons of girls (6 or more). If I do, I'll have to wait for preflowers. Will they show at 18/6 light? 24/0?
to top or not to top?
How tall should I let them get before I go to 12/12? I'm aiming for about 3-3.5' tall plants when they are finished stretching.
just a coupla floating Q's...
Thanks

update time

update time

hi people  I think it is past time for an update so here we go.
I transplanted into 2.25 gallon containers containing my own mix of organic potting soil, perlite, worm castings and sphagnum peat moss, fertilized with 2 kinds of bat guanos, and some glacial dust.
they have been under the 400w hps at 18/6 for a couple days now...
All plants have been topped except 2 that show some very nice side branching.
I just tested my soil and it is about pH 6.5, maybe a little less.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Peace,
Anima
