Check Out My Car

Trying to sell my car has been a huge pain in the ass and left me not time on IC. I am pissed that I have not had much time to read or post so I'm posting some pictures of my car to show you guys and see what you think.

I simply can't afford the thing. Its a 850ci BMW from 1993. This coupe runs on 12 cylinders and gets as much miles to the gallon as a hummer.

BTW, This is not an advertisement for my car, please don't pm me with inquires.

Check it Out-

I know a fair amount about the car so ask any questions you might have or just tell me what you think.

I always like this model BMW. Absolutely beautiful lines and way ahead of its time. I'd put it away for a rainy day if i had the room and the money, which i have neither. I was very close to buying an M3 until i saw the insurance quote. Yikes.

That is definitely some James Bond type shit. I'd have that thing tinted 5% as soon as i got it. **** the pigs with their film testing guns....

Ye, they are really rare.

Actually, when I said I was having problems selling it what I really meant was it has been a bitch getting everything together and straightened up TO sell it. Paper work, prettying it up, taking photos, etc.

I'm sure as soon as it hits the market some middle aged collector or rich kid with class will scoop it up. The only thing is it's a rare, gas guzzler so no one looking for an economical car wants anything to do with it.

I try not to drive it much because when you get behind the wheel of this thing it just makes you not want to sell it. THING F@CKIN SCREWS.

Back in 93 this thing was 120,000 new. I love the stock BMW brand car phone in it too, thing must have been baller back in the day. (The car phone, not the car.)

The car is still hot. :hotbounce:

Oh Well..

WOW! Dude, I love that car. I've had a couple of bimmers, and drive a couple of sweet new ones on a regular basis. I had a 98 328is that I did some work to- nothing intense or jappy, just cold air intake, exhaust and headers, euro lights, small spoiler with tail-light, a stress bar and deleted the model badging. This thing COOKED. I loved her so so much... she handled like a wet dream. The back end was so easy to get out there, and so predictable once it was. It was such a visceral feeling, like the perfect communication between man and machine.

Everytime I see one on the road, I wish I still had mine. The thing about the new bimmers is that they lack that rawness. They handle so well, and are quick enough, but the feeling (lack thereof) is totally different. If they had made a coupe back then that was powerful like the new ones, but raw like the old ones, now that would have been my favorite car on Earth. I mean, imagine if someone had bought one, and maintained it, and it didn't have even 80K miles on it!

What? Wait they do? you mean? HOLY SHIT DUDE! You just got rid of my dream car. Sweet, now I don't feel so bad, anymore. PM me in 5 years when you are still kicking yourself. On the bright side, you won't be seeing her twins out on the road nearly as often as I do.

Stay Safe

[EDIT: Quick ?'s- How many miles? Tell me it's a stick. If yes, were they six speeds, and has she gotten a new clutch? What has been done, what needs be done? Does the driver's seat seem like a cockpit, with the center dash tilted towards the driver? haha, I turn into such a kid around bimmers. Feel free to not answer any if you feel like it will blow up your spot. I know there ain't that many!]

for its weight it hauls ass.. plenty of ass.

show me a grand prix that does 185..
ok who drives 185? on a race track maybe. a stock grand prix runs mid 14's...same as that bmw. just making an observation thats all, I really do love the car. not everything is about speed, it's just weird it takes 12 cylinders to do what it does.

Didn't you know more is better? Just ask the hydro guys and the AN sycophants....

It may not be a race car, but its got style in spades...anyways, its all about the torque.

You should hear the thing. Its sounds really deep, healthy, and consistent. I have owned a few 5.0 mustang gts and this thing makes them sound like their coughing. So I assume they gave it 12 cylinders to see what a muscle car would be like with top of the line bmw engineering. And it came out awesome.

Kaos!

Lift it about 6"
3 off-road shocks per wheel.
36" mudbogger tires.
Full-interior rollcage. (with fire extinguisher)
A full compliment of at least 6 KC Day-lighter spotlights on the roof.
Gun-rack in the back window.

( Hell, I'd buy it...)

Kaos!

120,000 miles
automatic
nothing has been done
only thing that needs to be done is very minor exterior work and something drains on the battery. This car has about 20 computers in it so it could be anything draining on it. Most likely I will just let the buyer figure it out or maybe I will just throw a shutoff switch in it, although that would disable the alarm. Oh well.
center dash goes straight

Beauty of a car, I'm gonna let it go at 11. I have no doubt I will be kicking myself for selling this but unfortunately I NEED the money.

Its a shame.

It is also extremely well maintained inside and out for the mileage.

Hope that answers your questions.

Later,

Interesting car, i'm not sure how easy it will be to sell that.
I see a few of them over where I am. I know it cost a pretty penny when it first came out.

But

BMW's never held their value very well, I like that car. If I had a good amount of money I may have actually bought one. But there are no parts for those cars, not a big following at all, and expensive like hell to maintain, with parts prices etc.

The alpina package was sweet a nice version of that car, with a semi auto clutch, and loads of power mods. Great looking car it is though.

It was never meant to be the fastest car on the street, it's a grand touring car. Something that's meant to be comfortable, exotic, and have a good amount of torque to boot. A civil daily driver is what it was meant to be.

Good luck with your sale, I bet if you slapped some rims on her some kid would buy her in a flash. That's the way things work these days, people have no imagination. Gas mileage isn't that bad for that car, anything can suck if you have your foot to the floor off every light. Given that it's a v12 with tons of torque i bet once you're on the highway it revs at about 900 rpms once you're upto speed.
