Cheap* Powdery Mildew Perscription?

N

Neptune

Here's the lowdown,

My veg room is right next to my flowering room, separated by a panda wall. The room is designed ala RG1000HPS from Overgrow. The veg room had a small breakout of Powdery Mildew due to overcrowding and poor air circulation.. I neemed that room, and opened a no-pest strip(these seem to kill everything...)... I think have solved the problem.

BUT, it has spead to my flowering room.

Obviously, there is no way I am going to neem every single leaf blade here at week 4 flower. So my question is, what can I use to get me through till harvest that is cheap and effective, and doesn't require spraying/coating leaves?

Can I just buy some sulfer from someplace and burn it? I really do not want to invest in a $200.00 pro-sulfer burner, nor do I even know if you can use sulfer at this point in flowering without ruining the buds..

Its a very minor breakout, but I know PM pretty well.. and it tends to go from Minor to HOLY FUCKING CRAP in about 7 days... I have another 35 days left to bloom here, and in need of a remedy.

I moved the no-pest into the bloom room, and burned 2 sticks of incense.. filling the room with smoke... yeah, whatever I know...

any help appriciated..

hey bud.. here's my two cents..
ive had powder mildew for almost 6 months and been growing 8 months...anyway i got powder mildew by not spraying my plants regularly and poor air circulation. the powder mildew started in my veg room and made its way to my flower room not within long... im running a perpetual setup so ive not had a chance to clear the room to try to rid it completely of powder mildew.. that being said ive harvested almost 6 plants now and only marginal losses on the first plants due to powder mildew and with the most recent almost nothing... i have found that an air filter works wonders (HEPA filters grab mold spores) around 100 bucks for a decent sized one and it wont stink like sulfur.. other than that i just make sure i have good air circulation in my flower room.. i find that i can definitely grow on with powder mildew present if you take the right percautions.. i would chop off any leaves showing powder mildew in the early stages.. depending on how bad it gets you might not be able to spare leaves but at the beginning i think it would definitely help..
hope your harvest still is a beaut and you only lose some little bunkers on the bottom to PM...if all goes to shit get some bubble bags and make some hash.. wish you well

Try an ozone generator running in the dark cycle. Ozone kills mold.

Look for some stuff called Serande. It's safe, and can be used up to day of harvast.. But, I'd wait a week or so. It is a spray but it's compleatly safe and wont affect anything other then the mold.

thanks guys, i went with the serenade, and while it was a pain in the ass to spray down the room...o I'm glad I went with it as I have read a lto of great reviews in it's ability to deal with PM.

I have been getting good results with plain water at PH 8, it kills the mildew, but I only have a few spots here and there. I think the serenade sounds like the way to go, let us know how it worls out.

I had a very bad pm infection, A friend refered me to this stuff called fungastop, its all natural, smells like mint. Can be used up to 4 days before harvest. Serenade in my opinion works but is not as effective as fungastop, and serinade smells like feet. Also lots of ventilation, you cant give the pm an enviornment that they will thrive in.

I don't know much about powdery mildew, but put the no pest strip in a ziploc baggie until you get bugs. You don't want those anywhere near your flowering plants.
I would also get a hepa filter air cleaner thing. It won't help much now, but it will help prevent mold/ mildew in the future.

Updates on my problems,

I sprayed liberally, took me an hour, but I coated what I thought to be 90%+ of the leaf/bud surfaces. I have not seen ANY powdery mildew since I sprayed. Not a single spot. I will be spraying with high PH 8.5 tap water this week to wash the leaf and bud surfaces.

a successful remedy!!!
It only cost me $20.00 for a huge bottle of concentrated Serenade... that I only used like 40ml of... hope this stuff keeps on the shelf.

I recomend anyone with PM to try Serenade as a remedy, AND ALSO as a preventative!! I will be spraying my crops once in early veg, and once in early flowering from now on. I hope not to see PM again.

Endofine works great, also, you can give a LIGHT spray of water with some baking soda - both of these are pretty safe at any stage. A single application and the PM stopped spreading.
