i'm thinking of getting 2 and alternating them so 1 is always in while the other is charging/charged and ready to go.

"http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp;jsessionid=YBBHQLQ23UBI5LAQBBKSCONMCAEFMIWE?id=0034792227686a&type=product&cmCat=froogle&cm_ven=data_feed&cm_cat=froogle&cm_pla=0340299&cm_ite=0034792227686a&_requestid=119501"

seems pretty sweet.

nay sayers?

If you want to save 10 bucks and have it not say Remington on it..

http://www.amazon.com/Eva-Dry-EDV300-Mini-Dehumidifier/dp/B0000AXWKO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1212662479&sr=8-4

and if you want to post a link as a link.. click "go advanced" and then click on the icon that looks like a globe in the line of icons beneath font/size/color.

As far as my opinion? I think there may be a problem with your plan using desiccant type dehumidifiers. The units are not meant to be recharged daily and the desiccant has limits to the rate at which they can absorb water. If you check out the amazon reviews on them you can see they please people who give them a week or two before regenerating. I am getting one of these for my gun safe as it should work well for that application. As for growing.. if you want to go small, check out the peltier units.. it CAN be emptied daily (no regenerating necessary), you only need one.. its only 8" tall by 6" wide, 16oz capacity, it costs less than two of the ones you listed, hmm.. should i go on? :smoke:

check this one out.. it uses a peltier element instead of a compressor:

i just thought i would mention that these units always have lights on them as indicators and that thick tape needs to be used to cover these as these lights are known to cause hermies in grow boxes

"You get what you pay for" is an old saying that applies to life in general. Size the unit to the needs of the grow, NOT your wallet. Indoor growing is a completely different scenario than an outdoor.

good point. this is all for a sog flowering box that is 6' x 2 ' x 7' tall (but 4ft t5 makes a nice ceiling so figure around 3 ft tall) i don't have a HUGE need for it, but my bitches are flowering and humidity peaks at about 60% when lights are off. i just need a lil sum sum to bring that down closer to 40% peak. lights on im at like 20-30%...

while I would agree its too small for most it may work.. and if one doesnt maybe two will.. if noise and power consumption are major issues then peltier units may be the trick for a small solution.

Most I think would be more happy with the Soleus 25 Pint unit (again.. small solution).. Its pretty quiet from what I hear and would handle a good bit more capacity. Check out its ratings on amazon.
