Cheap Air Purifiers

Would something like http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4857817 that work for a smaller closet grow?

I plan to have a 400watt grow in my closet and i will be sectioning the closet off with some of those emergency blankets.

Found this and trying to save money. I know my friends parents have these when the smoked cigs, and it cleaned up the smell. Do you think it would work for a smaller grow?

"HEPA Air Purifiers
Quiet operation.

Specialized carbon filter helps remove unwanted odors from any room.

HEPA filter helps remove smoke, dust, pollen, dust mite debris, pet dander and mold spores from the air.

Ionizer assists in particle removal."

i tried to look up a model number and specifics but it sounds like it'll probably do the job. For smaller grows that is. I'd say pick one up and try it out, walmart says it cleans 109 square ft 6 times per hour. so if you're growing in a 3x4x5 it'll be about 12 square ft.

any more opinions? would that vaportek really do the job of just he only odor control device?

I have one of those and use it in the closet I grow in. It does do an allright job with the smell by itself but needs more. If you add in some air fresheners that will do a good enough job covering the smell.

double up on the cocoa carbon pads...or make a custom carbon filter to go in the hepafilters place

so you guys think its worth it to buy something like this for 25 bucks in store, and run with a glade plugin for cheap odor control for my first grow.

i wouldn't mind saving money the first time, and then buy the stuff when i actually have a btter buddy.

If you're only growing a few plants it can handle it with some air fresheners. If you go higher than a few plants you will want a carbon scrubber. Best of luck
