If a vessel is free of these four faults of overturning, leaking, being defiled, and being mixed, then it can be called a perfect vessel. If the embankments around a moat do not leak, then the water will never escape from the moat. And if the mind of faith is perfect, then the water of wisdom, the great impartial wisdom, will never dry up.
Thanks as always for the heads-up on that, Bud. You always have everybody's back. I deeply respect that about you. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!
DG, somehow I feel responsible! It's late now, but I will get some serious Daimoku out to you in the AM. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!
I hope you are able to figure out exactly what made you sick. That would be a good thing to know. I know you will be better, but it sucks you had to deal with that much dehydration. You poor thing.
I hope the experience doesn't make you phobic about that part of the world.
"To joyfully give one's own time and resources for the sake of kosen-rufu is the noble behaviour of a bodhisattva. That spirit of faith is certain to manifest itself as infinite good fortune and benefit."

Let others hate you if they will. What have you to complain of, if you are cherished by Shakyamuni Buddha, Many Treasures Buddha, and the Buddhas of the ten directions, as well as by Brahma, Shakra, and the gods of the sun and the moon? As long as you are praised by the Lotus Sutra, what cause have you for discontent?
"You must not for one instant give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves. Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life. This is not an easy struggle. Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world, for opening the door to your own life is, in the end, more difficult than opening the doors to the mysteries of the universe".
-Daisaku Ikeda
"In the light of the above points, this shows, my followers, that you had better cut short your sleep by night and curtail your leisure by day, and ponder this! You must not spend your lives in vain and regret it for ten thousand years to come."

Understand then that the votary who practices the Lotus Sutra exactly as the Buddha teaches will without fail be attacked by the three powerful enemies. In the more than two thousand years that have passed since the Buddha's advent, Shakyamuni himself, T'ien-t'ai and Dengyo were the only three who perfectly carried out the Buddha's teachings. Now in the Latter Day of the Law, Nichiren and his disciples and lay believers are just such practitioners.

I have always been able to make my way in the world because i understood hard work. The last couple weeks I have been going through some physical things and found it hard to keep up. I have a hard time doing what I need to do at work. I find this a source of irratation and sometimes my mood is not what I wish it to be. Im sure ive been hard on some of the people around me lately. Frustration is a heavy stone. I chant but need to spend more time in front of my gohonzon i guess. I have an appt with the doc first part of feb. To any that I may not have been myself lately or not had the patience that perhaps I should have ... i apologize. Forward from this point on. Chanting as we go.
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo Thanks for being here you guys.

And I want to give you a real big THANK YOU Babba for being here always!!! Your strong seeking spirit and determination in your life encourages me more than you know. Sometimes (or I should say always) the bad shit has to come out first before we will see the great changes we are seeking. My chants are with you and any others on this thread that are having serious challenges or difficulties.
My disciples, you should believe what I say and watch what happens. These things do not occur because I myself am respectworthy, but because the power of the Lotus Sutra is supreme. If I praise myself, people will think that I am boastful, but if I humble myself, they will despise the sutra. The taller the pine tree, the longer the wisteria vine hanging from it. The deeper the source, the longer the stream. How fortunate, how joyful! In this impure land, I alone enjoy true happiness and delight.

PTD sometimes I think things go over my head like the birds. Are you referring to some sort of guilt I hold at not being able to do what I expect of myself ?? I guess it is the american way at times Im really not that studied in the christian or catholic thing.
