changing out res water/nutes

First time hydro closet grower...was wondering what the best way to change reservoir water/nutes without shocking plants or ruining them

Forgive me...im a first time grower with two plants in a small space Using a soiless Hydroponic grow system With a reservoir and water stone Set up. Exactly how delicate are the roots can they be laid down on a towel While I'm changing my water/nute mix? My plants are in an early vegetative stage With long healthy white roots

If you can pull the plants out of the system without hurting any of the roots, yes, you should be able to put it on the ground for a while with no problems. Don't let the roots dry, and don't be rough with them, and they'll be fine. If you have an air stone, the roots will often grow around the stone, and could be difficult to remove.

Plants like to have their roots pruned just as much as the top growth. When moving my young plants from the veg room to the flower room, I often have to cut the roots to separate them, since they've all grown together. They recover just fine.

I only change out my res when I switch to flowering. Sometimes, I don't even do that. I've done many hydro grows without changing out the res at all. I'll refill with fresh water when needed. When switching to flower, sometime I use the same water, and just switch nutes. Usually, though, I'll drain the res when I switch to flower.

The roots are incredibly resilient you will be just fine. these plants sure are tuff. and about changing water. I usually wash out my resevoir and hydro table very very well between grows. but besides that... I just keep adding keep adding. Unless something serious is going wrong. which thank the plant god's i havent had. Just be gentle and you wont even notice them getting stunted or anything.

just have another bucket handy with some nutes & water in it . when you take your plant out to clean & change the bucket .... put the plant & rootball in the bucket with the water & nutes . it'll stay hydrated & keep feeding ... it just won't have the 02 from the airstone . it could stay in for hours if needed , but cleaning & refilling a rez should only take half hour max & the plant will be fine .
