I have my lights on from 5:30 am untill 4:30 pm right now; i wanted to change them to 4:30 pm untill 5:30 am as that is when iam around to fix problems, and so on and so forth. Also when iamhome i have my ligts on in my room and i always worry about light leaks as i have an area sectioned off with poly. soooooo what is the best way of making the switch? i was thinking about taking an hour off each end and adding to the other each day but that will ake 12 days.....like 5 30 to 430 goes to 630 to 530 then 730 to 630 and so on and so forth untill iam at 530 pm. any feedback?

hmmm, now im no expert on this but ill give my 2 cents...

I would say do what you said, possibly even slower than that....like 30 min intervals
I dont know if the age of the plant will come into play for this one (later stage may need more time to acclimate to the new light schedule??)

Just pretend your plants are on a 23hr time schedule for a lil and youll get there

Just switch it. It wont make enough difference to matter. If it were me I would just run 2 dark cycles back to back and then continue with everything as normal. Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and just switch it once.

Couldn't be said better.

You could leave it off tell the time come to turn the light on. DONT turn the light on at 530am instead leave the light off until 430 pm comes around then turn the light on and then back to light regime you wantthats what i would do. I dont think it would stress them out very much if ANY if there us multiple +12 hours of dark as long as its not days on end. That would be a easy transistion in my opinion and it would also be very simple to do.

Hope that helps
