changing lighting schedule and moving plants

A few days ago, I unexpectedly lost my job. So we've decided to move to California where we can really grow.

I have 10 seedlings that are about 3 weeks old under T5 florescent 24/0.

They will need to move with us. I was thinking the best thing to do would be get them acclimated to a 18/6 schedule and move them in the dark during their dark phase.

Should I gradually add darkness. 22/2 then 20/4? Or can they handle a sudden switch?

Do I even have the right idea here? What is going to be the best way to move these plants to California? It's a 5 hour drive.

Hey Pandor. Do you have a place you can put them back under lights when you arrive in cali? If you do Id would just pack them in a box, there in cups so maybe you could get some of those cardboard coffee holders the ones you can fit 4 coffees in cut them to fit inside the box so they dont tip. Five hours wont hurt them in the dark, pack them right before you leave. Hope that helps.

When I gotta travel, the little 2 watt led reading lights are great to put in with babies to keep a little light in there. They also have at Home Depot battery operated t8 bulbs, 1 foot long, also kick ass for trips.

Id, say just move them whenever just as long as you dont Damage the plants you should be fine either way just back in a grow area ASAP.

IMHO.
