Changing Light Schedule

One week ago I put my plants on a 12/12 schedule, from 8 pm (on) to 8 am (off). I want to change it to 8 am on and 8 pm off. What is the best way to do this?

I'm not sure of the best way to do it but may I ask why? Electricity is cheaper during the night than during the day and also temperatures tend to be cooler at night.

Wow, thats a tuffy. I would say if your in veg, you could do it over a longer period of time than you have in flower.

Ive heard of change times to a degree, but never a complete night and day flip, I dont know what that would make the plant think.

Take some clones, then try it, if it hermies or something, you can use the clones on your new time table.

I dont think you can do that if flower, maybe it doesnt matter, Ive never heard of such an extreme change, got me scratching my head on this one.

Now I want to know.

it is better imo to run it at night when its cooler, but if u want to swap it round then simply dont turn the light on at 8pm, leave it in the dark for another 12hrs and turn it on at 8am.

just go ahead and do it, either at the end of the "day" period or at the beginning. i did it and the plant never flinched.

i think the only thing you can do is give them 24 hrs absolute darkness and then start the new 12/12 schedule instead of wait 7 weeks.

The reason I put them on the existing schedule was to have the lights keep them warm at night, but the problem is I do not get to spend very much time with them (cleaning room, watering, inspecting for problems, etc.). I think changing the light schedule and putting a small heater for nighttime temps (allthough it would cost more), would work out better for me.

if thats the reason then i wouldnt bother. inspecting them and watering etc will take you 30mins tops. you can adjust them to come on at 6pm and off at 6am if you really want a couple more hours with them.

extend the dark period an extra 12 hours and then turn the lights on at the new time and done...people make way too big of a deal about this kind of stuff...your plants will be fine.
