You mean the champagne that was going around the bay around that time? I'm curious on what happened to the champagne also...

Champagne was a PNW hashplant clone only that became somewhat scarce at the turn of the 2000's. It as a staple cash crop clone in our circles thru the 90's. Not sure where it came from but it was a Vancouver BC staple for a number of years.

It was "never" called Champagne Kush so anything called that is something else entirely.

reeferman…… lol ….. scott family farms...…. that's probably where the "kush" got added in.

Sorry but that's not champagne.. she rarely gets over 3 leaf leaves and only goes 5 tops... usually very green too, not the purple in the leaf stems. It was grown for it's extremely low odor and strong stone. The smell of the dried flowers is more like hash and not fruity really imo..

I know the cut is still in production.. saw some growing a few months ago and been puffing on her the last year off n on...

Same people doing bullrider and some other oldies.

Also the "lizard" was another hash plant and was the strongest imo... looked almost identical to the champagne but had a even stronger stone and more oily resin.

Was the ultimate in yield and hash production, made a blonde bubble hash that was great. Very small tight uniform structure with small fat leaves with tight straight bulging serrations. The light light orange short hairs with rock hard chunks was a thing of its own. The effect was nice, clone capability was amazing (health). Said to be a old NL cut. Purplekush took it over, miss those oldies aswell the LUI

The cut that circulated around BC in the mid 90s was a (Skunk#1 x NL#2) from Sensi before Nevil left. They still sell a “Skunk x Hindu Kush” that’s supposedly from the same stock but no doubt they’re using different parents these days. Nevil coined the NL#2 as “Hindu Kush” just before the sale to Ben.

I'm currently growing 2 bingo pajamas from Bodhi.
Trying to investigate it's lineage and I landed here.
Both of these plants smell like champagne. Pretty bizarre, but I'm excited about them.
So I guess my question - does the champagne smell like champagne?
