cfl seed run?

I have 10 sour 60 seedlings in styro cups, they are a week old and are looking healthy. The purpose of the grow is to just make as many seeds as possible for an early season outdoor grow. Will regular 40 watt 6500K 4ft floros produce mature seeds? What if I were using a few 20 watt 6500k cfl's ?
I am getting ready to put them in 3 gallon bags as soon as i see some root swirl in the bottom of the cups (any day now), figure i'll end up with 3 or 4 decent females. I realize the growth will be much slower and less yield from floro grows. From those with experience, how many seeds could be expected (on average between alll phenos) with cfl's or floros.
I have access to a 150 watt MH street light, but no Hps right now. I realize that Hps is the prefered spectrum to flower in, but this is just a side project and don't want to put much money into it.
Would you see reason to rig up the 150 watt Mh to put over the 3 gal bags, Or am I going to get a decent amount of seeds from floros and cfls? Again only looking for advice from people with experience. Thank you in advance 222

Think about this... most growers use a 1000 watt bulb to cover a 25 sq ft area. Thats 40 watts per square foot. People getting big yields will do even higher watts/sq ft sometimes. You could get buds and seeds with less lights, but its worth the cost of electricity and equipment to make sure you have enough to get a decent return.

I used to grow plants under 4' cfls to prep them for OD growing in spring and could easily get plants that were 18" high and very healthy under two of these 4' lights in one ballast. The thing to worry about with CFLs is the light penetration. You don't get much more then 12-14" of good penetration with a CFL... and CFl is going to make you plant more "leggy" then an intense light meaning it will be skinny and tall as opposed to short and fat.

The MH is a better bet in my estimation... hands down. With good prep you and the right amount of watts the CFLs would work too. Just do some more research about Watts/Sq Ft and you'll get the idea.

Thanks i'm going to look at getting the mh running. Does any one have any experience with floro seed runs? I'm interested to know how many seeds a sour 60 will produce under a floro vs. mh setup. Please help need input asap, looking to transplant soon.
Also are there any good (noteworthy) threads on breeding the sour 60? not looking to get fancy, just need lots of high quality AF seeds by mid May. Am I on the right track with just doing an open polination with sour 60? Where Can I find really good info on the sour 60? wanted to do the auto AK too but attitude was sold out.
I know about the search function, have used it for 10 years with out needing to log in and ask questions. But this is a subject i need some deeper reading (guidance) with. Thank you very much to all. 222

Give your plants the best that you can afford. Last fall and this winter I did a seed run in an unheated room on a windowsill. I wasn't expecting much, if any, return.

(that's my tough early sativa with a wicked high. The window it was against had ice on it many days this last winter)

I harvested 40 good seeds and a bit more than a gram of surprisingly good bud for no input other than watering (they were in organic soil.)

Go with the MH if it's not too much bother.
