Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH)

the tent is 62" tall. if i move the filter out side the tent, there will be 55" growing space minus 15" for the bucket. the net is 10" above the bucket and if the plant stretch 2x would give me 20"+- plant and 20" from top of plants to the light.

does this sound like it would work

Does anyone use the 150w cdm?
I got great results with the Osram powertronic pti 150w/220-240v with Osram hci-t 150w/942 ndl. I also found a e40 to g12 Adapter so I can use this with my normal reflector. All together for about 65 Euro.
I used 2 of them in a adjust a wing with a second socket for the first 4 weeks of Bloom. 2 strains(austrian power kush and sleestackskunk) grow big but had only small Buds developed. All other strains like trainwreck, Barneys lsd, blueberryhaze, ssh worked fine with cdm only. I added 250w hps for 2 weeks and apk and slsk got bigger Buds. After this 2 weeks I switched to 400w hps in addition to the cdm. With this setup i got more than doubble the harvest i normal got with the 400w hsp only.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned (is thread is crazy long) but has anyone seen those Ceramic HPS bulbs that hortilix came out with? It looks like they only make a 600w for right now, and I think you need one of their ballasts to fire it.

Has anyone had any experience with them yet?

Reading through this and the other CMH thread. I have some sativa strains under 48" LED lights. Does anyone have experience with such strains under CMH? My thought is an armoire grow with a couple of 150 watt lights stacked. Alternately I could scrog under a 315 hood but L x W is less than 3 x 3.

The silliness never stops, are two arc tubes at half the power better than one arc tube twice the size twice the power.

Hi guys!I'd like to ask if someone knows what kind of ballast is needed for running an EYE Cera Arc 375W E40 3500k Clear.Could I use my ETI HPS ballast?

Also, should CMH lamps be changed about every 3 grows like HPS?

Lastly, what about the distance from canopy in veg/flower?

Thank you in advance for your help! :)

Htg is selling them this way. A basic s51 ballast and a 400w cmh bulb that's rated protected. They will sell you it with an unprotected fixture too....

Do the low frequency square wave ballasts emit any of the electronic interference that the high frequency digital remote ballasts do?

You are correct!
Older MAGNETIC ballasts are required for CMH lamps.
Electronic ballasts will NOT work as they operate at a higher frequency.
Wrong, any LFSW digital will run cmh. Take the allstart 860 for instance , it will operate just fine on a hortilux platinum or an AN Baddass and now Sunplix is producing a LFSW digital and claiming they're the first to make a digital ballast that will run the allstart 860, wrong, they aren't the first.
Another instance would be Solis Tek C1(due out in November) which is a UHF sine wave digital that runs the 315 cdm everyone and their dog is making now.
Sure your core and coil will run these lamps but not at the efficiency and performance a digital will run the same lamp at.

I've noticed there are a lot of copy cats of the 315w Philips bulb, a local store is advertising Solistek 315w and 630w. Solistek claims their 315w has the highest UV output, even though it's open rated and has the same two layers of glass, any thoughts?
