Ceilingless Strains and Tolerence

i was thinking while puffing away on my glass blunt last nite or rather early this morning about tolerence. in the tokers den i started a thread on the subject and brainthor provided some very useful information http://www.whitman.edu/biology/Stup...ngB/physio.html

bascially it says that the human brain has receptors for cannaboids (we were built to get high lol) and when your tolerence builds its not because of the chemical cannaboids but because your brain actually starts turning off these receptors so you cant get as high stoned etc.

that got me thinking, there are ceilingless strains where the more you smoke the higher you get (trust me you can smoke until either your laughing so hard oyu cant pick up the bong or fucked up you cant co-ordinate your limbs to grasp the joint lol trust me ive been there and it is awesome) also there are strain to which people dont seem to build a tolerence. so does this mean these strains have a cannaboid or cannboid profile (different cannaboids working synergistically) which prevents the brain from turning off those receptors? very intresting ....

can you guys name some great ceilingless strains and strains that you dont build a tolerence to or atleast tolerence comes slower? thanks guys :)

hey c2
some other folks around here can give you first hand advice, but i'll put in my 2 cents.
mandala seeds says kalichakra is good for not building a tolerance to, therefore good for regular smokers like me.
will be buying some soon.
as for ceilingless, my connections are lousy and i'll never see them in a bag.

unless i buy seeds from a no ceiling strain. but i don't have access to or a yerar or two to grow columbian black. i know of it from a post by zamalito, that keeper of all knowledge sativa.

The only two I have access to are Malawi Gold and Flo - both seem ceilingless, though I haven't pushed it as far as I could. I've crossed them together to make this Goldfinger mix, and am just getting some dry buds to test out - at the very least I should get the same effects, but I'm hoping for more...:)

forget modern seedbanks' congolese and asian strains, they do not provide this

old school nl x haze hybrids will do it though

My ak-47 does me repeatedly, but I'd prefer something that wasn't so head numbing.

I'm hoping some dj shorts or blockhead will be less heady.

I'd presume that you have multiple cannabinoid receptors of a couple varieties/sizes. It would seem that some varieties may have both larger and smaller molecules, which may hit more receptors than one that may just have one or the other...

just a guess.

Mexican sativas grown in Sinaloa... I didn't think there was a such thing as being "too high" until I had that weed. The high was so strong it was uncomfortable. I thought it had to be laced with something because I'd never felt like that, and that just brought more discomfort. Shared about half a joint with my wife, mostly me actually, and had to put it out because I wasnt about to hit that thing again. I threw the roach and the remainder of the weed in the garbage disposal and tried my hardest to just go to sleep and sleep it off. Musta been out for awhile because it was dark when I woke up, and I was still reeaally stoned.

If you aren't used to some really strong sativas I think thats what you're looking for. i know I was smoking huge piles of OG and Purple Kush before the trip and my tolerance was waay up there, stuff like Purps and Trainwreck wouldnt even get me high unless I had a huge blunt. but that weed blew through my tolerance like nothing, half a joint shouldnt even have given me a head change, yet I was higher than I've ever been.

If that weed had a celing only a true sativa lover couldve reached it. I thought the herb was laced until I actually mentioned it on a cannabis site, and some others chimed in with their own stories of powerful Mexican sativas, or just exceedingly strong pure Sativas period. Maybe the cannabinoids in pure sativas hit different receptors than other smokes, I dunno, something about it bypassed my tolerance and took me to a different place.

I smoked this bud in Thailand. 1000 Baht for an extremely compressed block that was about 8-10 grams.

It got me so high, all I could do is stare at a corner while my mind was racing all over the place. Wild, crazy thoughts. Great for the imagination, and almost visual in nature. I had the same experience with Kali Mist at Abraxas. IMO you can't beat a good South-East Asian sativa (or a hybrid made with it) :)

Interestingly, my Indian is pure relaxation without paranoia, although it does make me very aware of sounds around me. I feel utterly at peace when I smoke my Indian sativa, but there's no couchlock. Pure bliss. I love the smell and taste of indica weed, but the sativa high is definitely better in my book.

I guess this is the right thread. Pretty old, but... I was just thinking about the fact that I still get really stoned off of just a hit or two of this Afghan I am running and I have been smoking it exclusively for a few months. I smoke every day, sometimes multiple times a day, but mostly at night. Does this mean I am a light weight or is this strain one of those for which you never build tolerance? I have certainly built tolerance to other strains in the past. Maybe I am just tired a lot lately. I just took a couple of rips, and was realizing I was quite relaxed, thus the rambling post. I assume others have some strains that never get tired. I don't even think I have this strain completely dialed as to when to harvest and it does this... Like wow man...

Always found the Chem family cuts had almost no ceiling, especially Chem 4 and ECSD only prob smoking too much ECSD is you have to keep smoking or you get that classic burnout feeling lol.

UK Cheese, thats the only 1 I can think of right now. More may come to me later. Take care 1

People have told me this strain smells like cheese, so that would make sense. I think this land race or something very similar was a building block in the cheese strains.
