Hi good folks

Just a diary to document my fairly lackluster growing :) . Mainly have a small 150 watt LED running at about 70 percent, as well as a vegging chamber with the same sort of light running at just under 25%. in the vegging chamber the little ones are close so any more light and they start to shrink away a bit.

I have three plants vegged under the scrog. Top left is a sativa leaning Family Blues from Miraculous Meds, top right is my revegged Bubba 18 from Verdant Green, and the bulk of the plant in the lower section is a Casey Jones mix plant a freebie from OJD.
Its my first scrog  and I am trying to do three different plants so hopefully they get along and eat similar (too bad if not, they're getting what they're getting) which food wise is a farmed barramundi poop made into nutes and fortified with 30 % lacto bacillus...

here is my vegging chamber

Here are my mothers and a few hopefuls for the next round, as well as maybe some late OD starts...depending on whether I can extract my finger enough haha.
I have a headbanger f2 biker leaner, three bluestar S1s from miraculous meds, a couple of SSSDH mix fems from OJD, a nice wide leaf Family blues, a zameldelica x tom hill haze from proseeds, a couple of chin checks from useless gardens (via dots...where are you man?)...and a coupla dodgy fingers crossed clones.
My O/D run includes a seed repro of a SSH and Gorilla Bubble which I plan to ditch the boys and self the biggest girl and make some s1 hopefully which will show some transgressive segregation so I can have a look through the combos. gunna pull the males and cs the big girl who I have cloned...peace folks, take care and be nice to you!

These are a cross of auto malawi (ace) and my own SSH cross.. plan is to try and make a decent strength auto hardened to the aussie conditions.....
these other ones are a cross of headbanger f5 biker male and Family Blues, to try and get a male to mate with other family blues and blue lines I have in the freezer...

these have been replanted into coco because they did not like the premium potting mix at all

Lots of interesting genetics, sure to perform in the Aussie sun!
cheers man, yeah I haven't really tried much in the way of Blue things so it'll be cool if they perform....
hopefully some sun this year, oh and a dry autumn too

That is super weird looking, Australia has some incredible diversity, is it poisonous by chance?

these really are little freaky things, I am reasonably sure that they aren't poisonous. There is another fish that lives here called the toad fish...these lil fellas are poisonous and have caught a few new arrivals to Australia unaware....

little update for the scrogee dodge:alien:
scrog update 12.2.23 - Copy.jpg

all the leaf morphology is similar even though unrelated

I am feeding these farmed fish food w/ 30% lacto bacillus. they're are in a fabric pot about 30 litres filled with sphagnum peat moss. I have been careful to allow the medium to dry out a fair bit prior to watering, and then I only water in about a litre or two at a time. Once the roots are everywhere I may be able to up the feeding.. there's plenty of space below for the rootzone, which for me is a nice change, last time i tried flowering in small pots, and a bit like I might be, the plants were unhappy in their tiny homes:rolleyes:.
Seems I was able to get rid of the fungas gnats with hydrogen peroxide. nothin else worked. :) . sprayed the surface with a 4/1 water/peroxide solution, repeat a few times over a few days

silverback f1 backed up - Copy.jpg

This is a small silverback f1. progeny derived from a reeferman super silver haze x pink kush father and an f2 of tony greens gorilla bubble, hence the working title of silverback...working title only so as not to confuse with the old outdoor warrior Silverback grower...
Now legend has it (from Bigbag) that the SSH daddy was a selection by reeferman from 1000 plants.
while I cant really vouch for that, I do know that the daddy in the cross really does dominate. I have grown the f1, f2, f3 and f4 generations and they all belong to daddy, meaning he really dominates in structure and leaf morphology.
So I then took that cross and wacked it against a gorilla bubble f2....well interestingly, daddy is still dominating as the leafs on the silverback f1s look pretty similar to the ssh x pink kush.
No sign of the indica (WLD) looking gorilla bubble really.

the plant pictured is the only plant I have backed up so far. I am doing a small f2 seed run with a late showing male who is embedded in the ten girl plant rubber container....just cos i cant help making a few seeds :)

auto malawi ssh x 27.2.23.jpg

Auto Malawi x (SSH x Pink Kush/Mikes Bag Seed) One is growing, they should get a bit more light in the veg chamber.
I think I am going to change the veg schedule to include an hour on in the middle of the night, as described by Snow High in the Potcast. I think its 13 hours on in total, with one of those hours coming on in the middle of the dark period.
I have a couple of mum plants taking forever to reveg properly, so trying to address that.
It may be something to help me look for a plant that might finish in the springtime on the ascending sunlight hours.:)
Bang Fam 27.2.23.jpg

this is like my lameass version of Navy Cross:)...its a headbanger f5 biker leaning male against the broadleaf Family Blues shown earlier.....im hoping its a boy....then i can cross him back to the family blues phenos to make some serious back up seeds....

not enough beef in this scroganoff :alien:
scroger pic 1.jpg

so I added a lil pk 13/14 and turned the light up a smidge to about 80 %
scroger 2 12.3.23.jpg

the are a little slow for four and a bit weeks, maybe because the scrog is abit mighty....meaning I have a few spider mites...
It's a necessary evil I'm afraid due to me bringing stuff in and out from the bush and the backyard.....its only a worry inside as the natural predators gobble em up outside
I have kept the numbers manageable with hydrogen peroxide and water sprayed under the foliage...that's what all the brown bits on the leaves is from...its just hit em a couple of times till we limp over the line in a month or so...
the veg cab continues to overgrow, with my clone tec now working well....its nice to take a cut and have it not wilt at all and then start to grow out of the bottle dome a week later....no hormones, no nuthin, no misting no wuckers...
veg cab 12.3.23.jpg

In here I have a couple of males, one Ohaze male (actually there are about 8 cuts of the ohaze male so fingers crossed eh?:) and one Zameldelica/tom hill haze......)
I have a lower tolerance than i usually do, so I smoked both these males and considered the effect and decided to keep them going forward...the rest are mums including the big chin check who may be next cab off the rank, or cab of the rank even....:giggle:
outdoor updates coming!
