CBD Crew three cotyledone babes

Now, my dears, I know that many of you saw such plants, with 3 leaves (cotyledons), but I think you never have the opportunity to have many of them in the same grow.

It happened me this time, and much more, one seems to be a male and one female, so guess what I will do? ;)

Pictures now:

Seedlings:

After few days (only one of them):

They were already flowered, to determine sex, and now are revegging outdoors, and waiting for fall to ... fall in love, and make babies, hehe...

Outdoor:

Now, this last is not an actual photo, but I will update. They are much better today, 2 feet high I would say, and strong. Very hot these days but they have water so I am optimistic about them.

Oh, as you saw, only two of them, CBD Sweet and Sour Widow and CBD Skunk Haze are with 3 leaves, the other two being "normal" CBD Mango Haze fem and CBD Yummy fem. Who know, maybe they will fall in love all of them.

Oh, for those to know what for are these plants good, please check some TLC:

Position 2 is CBD Sweet and Sour, before flowering (in fact I think it was a male!). You can see the high CBG concentration, wich make them very useful for medicinal purposes. The only thing is that one need to make extracts, as you can't smoke them so.
Of course, when flowering, the CBG will dissapear after 1-2 weeks...

Keep updated...

The plants have grown well, I would say. No nutes given until today, just water.

1 and 2 are the ones with 3 leaves, 3 and 4 are normal, all from CBD Crew as specified above.

Next time they will have some organic nutrients too, just in case, but for now they seem to be ok. I wonder how big they can go... If it would not be about the forum rules, I would open an auction for the seeds already. Or at least a bet if next generation will stil be with 3 cotyledone or not.

Oh, I wrote 1/2/3/4 with some red colour but a little too thin, hope you will notice.

Glad you like them.

They are anyway rare, maybe 1-2% in a population, as it seems that the characteristic is controlled by a recesive gene, with low penetration, as this study shows:

http://www.sunflowernsa.com/research/research-workshop/documents/hu_tricotyledonous_05.pdf

However, it is inheritable, and although it may not be fully stable, one may reach 50% from a population.

Contrary of what I heard on some forums, it is not about weak plants, as one can see in the pictures. I can vouch for this, as I know how (not carefully) I grown them.

The strain has already a name (I mean I already chosen one), I will make it public if I will succeed to "mate" them. :)

See you along, in this hot summer.

The biggest anomaly was to have 2 tricotyledone seeds in one grow, I would say. Let see what happens further!

Chloe, the plant I found and win cups with was a trifoliate when I popped the seed. The only one of the bunch. She was also the best of the bunch by alot.

Then maybe in 2016 I will win the cup, hehe! In fact, I am planning to make the best medicinal hash from those...

Two weeks in flowering (this was 2 weeks ago, hehe), I got some samples from the plants, for a little lab test. The image is a little hazy, bevause I forgot the plate in the developer solution long enough to not be a good thing.

picture.php
[/IMG]

From left to right: Skunk Haze, CBD Yummy, and Mango Haze. Sweet and Sour Widow is not on the plate, because I lost the sample (yes, I was at shopping, and the sample was constantly popping out from ... where I put it, and eventually at some point, it decided to left me. Of course, you have the test in the POS.2 of the #1 post, with the mention that the test is in vegetative state of the plant, hence the bigger percentage of CBG.

In this photo, I am al little thrilled not knowing exactly if the what I have there is CBD (obvious), THC (ok, that is obvious too), CBC (it seems to be some 0,5 or so, but at this age?), CBG (some more then the possible CBC but not very much too (1-2% maybe, normal fact considering age).

If this is so, these types of herbs look very good for a medicinal variety (even if, myself, I am not very convinced at this time of the real medicinal value of cannabis, not because of its' lacking properties, but because of the existence of some ... secondary effects. This is another thread, anyway, not one to be easily welcomed on a ... cannabis forum, ehh?)

These days, picture of the plants too...

Newcomer, but not CBD Crew

Newcomer, but not CBD Crew

1. The seeds for the CBDCrew's tricothyledone plants are almost ready. Maybe 1-2 weeks of patience for them to be ripen.

2. Until then, we have a newcomer in the three cotyledone club. Here is the picture:

picture.php
[/IMG]

Now, I know it looks awfull, but:
a. This is it.
b. It has three cotyledones
c. It seems that the further grow will be normal
d. If my guess is right, it needs no topping :D

This strain is a HEMP strain, a CBD type (already tested). It is a monoecious strain, so the experiment consists in testing if it will transmit the features after self pollination.

Now, this is what I call a GROW! :dance013:

I may be a lucky guy, or a good boy: maybe are an advance from Santa, who knows...

Also, we put to germinate the seeds from the CBD Crew tricotyledonates. Ok, yes, I forgot to update, they already made seeds. Hope they are viable.

Update in 2 weeks to see we have some three cotyledone F1 from CBD Crew...

That is fucking awesome man. I was aware that it was quite a rare thing to get the three cotyledon, and keeping them alive. Do you find you get a third more of a plant through it's lifetime?

I haven't cuantified the results, they were only fun grows for now.

However, the CBD Crew F1 (I named them Trinity Skunk, Trinity Lemon, and Trinity Sweet, hehe) seeds are starting to germinate, and if we will have some three cotyledone F1 babies, maybe from now we will have some "scientific"grows.

I wish you good luck man, cool thing with the cbd levels especially. Wish I could get my hand on something interesting like these. I have only seen one three cotyledon my whole life.

Well, if you sow many seeds, it happens to have such as those nice plants.

For now, the CBD Crew F1 seeds, does not seem to be very fast in germinating, but... keep trying.

Not very well, I was forced to give up to them. I will select other in the spring to put them outdoor. In fact the interesting point was how much is the percent of transmission of the recessive gene, not to cultivate hemp indoor.

Of course one may ask about the CBD Crew girls, but they will have their time in spring too. At this moment I can say that I tested the percent of transmission, and it is not very much transmitted even if both parents are 3 cotyledone. In fact I haven't any three cotyledone seedling until now, but I sow only a few of them.

See us in May...
