cause for concern?

so here is the deal. the other day while i was sleeping my girl let someone into our house who claimed to have lived here before.

he asked for my landlords phone number because he wanted to rent out a garage in our back yard for storage. my girl gave him the phone number.

as he was leaving he asked if she smoked pot or knew where to get any. thankfully she said she has no idea.

am I totally paranoid here or does this seem fishy?

I agree with Flower_Felon. I wouldn't worry so much him being a cop, but rather a thief. If that is true, your girl just let him scope out your belongings including the scent of pot. Which is quite valuable on the black market as you probably know.

i agree that letting some stranger in your house is a great way to get hurt, whether you're growing or not.

when you say the problem has been taken care of, do you mean you dumped her or that she won't do it again?

i mean in this day and age, what person allows a stranger into their home. we do NOT answer the door for people we don't recognize. and when we DO answer the door for the ups man or pizza man or whatever, we step out of the house and say that we have to make sure our cats don't escape. because we do, and frankly, i don't feel like climbing behind the spider-filled bushes around the house to dig my cat out and then worry if she's bringing some bug into the house. she sleeps in the bed with us, attached to me, i do NOT want to get bit by a tick and get lyme disease, you know?

but that guy could have been a rapist or a criminal and he could have been casing your house looking for stuff to take. what was she thinking? did she say?
