Caterpillars...

Curious on what kind these are, and where did these come from and how to kill organically. (besides handpicking). Was also wondering if they eat buds...? I havent seem them eating or burrowing into buds, just leaves.

I found about 15 or 16 of them on 6 plants. It was weird how they were in spread out plants. all 6 on the bottom shelf, but one infected plant was on the otherside of the room and the rest were on the other side.
They seemed to only be in the bottom plants (stadium) where the air is cooler. But Im guessing a moth layed these eggs and guessing there are about 200 or so more of these guys waiting to hatch?
These things are very fast at destroying as well. Are these cabbage rollers? Kinda seems to look like them, but they arent as fat and big as them... and they seem to be in the pupil stage because they only seem to hang out on the bottom leaves.

Looks like what some folks call an inchworm or a leaf roller but I can't find either in the bug list in the thread linked below, I probably don't have the correct name or latin for it.
Anyway, a good safe biological non toxic control is to treat them with BTK. The "kurstaki" strain of bacillus thuringiensis. It kills all forms of catepillars.

what's that bug thread...

I can't tell if you have the same pillars as I did last year..

But I had a hell of a problem with them outdoors last season. I was picking upwards of 40-50 off my plants a day! It was horrible! And yes they do eat the buds!!!
I did One spraying of Spinosad...and never saw them again! I didn't even find dead ones on the plants, they just disappeared! So now I'm just preventatively spraying with Spinosad (and it's organic if I remember correctly).

Catterpillars are the worst! They do burrow in the stems, buds, OMG, nasty pest that came out of the sky in the last 4 or 5 years it seems. Bougainvillea worms, inchworms, tobacco worms, all the same kind of plague. Definitely lay down some BT (bacillus) and other natural means you can. Some kids call the THC worms LOL and think they are great for smoking dry (most retarded thing I've heard of).

My outdoor plants always get them bad and I HATE THEM. They burrow in my buds and crap everywhere inside my buds, and to add insult to injury the crap+wet eaten buds makes for a perfect mold growing area. My nugs were eaten, burrowed into, crapped on and mold grew in the holes and spread in the dense nugs.. So sorry to see those green demons, I almost hate them more than mites, because they live outdoors and are really hard to combat..

Best of luck, please post if something is working wel for ya to keep them away..

I had to molest my nugs one by one, opening each leaf and nug until I found all the little pests hiding inside each nug, and all the crap, man was I pissed. Found like 25 of the bastards in one plant alone..Let us know how it went, hopefully you have a light infestation..
