Cat and bat

Opened the back door a few minutes ago and a feral cat I feed was batting away with intensity at a bat that was all but pinned down right at my back door. My opening the door was what allowed it to escape.
It was neat to see but, to be honest it was hard to to see well enough given the low light level and the fact that it was so out of the normal. My first thought was the cat had a humming bird trapped, but it was dark. Took me an instant to realize what I was seeing.

My cat carried one in one night, how she caught it I have no idea. My first thought was the bat was after moths attracted to a porch light and the cat made a lucky stab. My second thought, which was more concerning, was the bat was sick. I had the cat checked out at the vet, was concerned about rabies. She checked out OK.
