Cardboard

Do you think it would just be asking for trouble, if I sheet a framed up cab with cardboard?
It would be lined with mylar, and have good airflow to avoid hot spots. But it looks odd to carry shets of plywood into an apartment.

just bring them in at night thats what i did since i live in an apartment.i hate nosy people.i just boarded up the window from the inside maybe u should just buy a grow tent.

cardboard is pretty flimsy as is. I suggest doing what we did which is just to use the straight mylar as your wall. Look at my grow room link in my sig.

I really dont have anywhere from my apartment that recieves any good sunlight. Andgrow tents are too expensive. I have plenty of material at my disposal to build a sturdy frame for a 4'x4' cab. But I'm kinda sketchy about sheeting material. I just started thinking canvas may be my best bet, but it may prove to be a pain in the ass attatching mylar on it.

Shouldn't look too odd, you could be building some shelves, entertainment center, etc. Carry that shit proudly and build away!

A tent would make things so much easier for you...There are a few threads going about a couple of the major brands out there that would help you make a decision if you decided to go that rout.

I like that panda film and 2"x3"'s design. I was thinking 2"x2'''s and 1/2 inch plywood originally, but them I remembered I drive a station wagon and unless I plan on chopping it up at the lumber yard it aint happening.
Does the panda film have any transparency to it? I'm trying to build a lightproof design.

station wagon wont fit them??? i think it would... big cars!
go with the 1/8 ply or the carboard, get the good scotch duct tape the cheap nassau duct comes off quick, the expensive of the brand is good though. use alot of staples with the cardboard ...panda works too. straight mylar isnt light-proof though, the stuff headiez has is expensive, but works very well.

how big of unit are you building?
i have a 12 x 8 that i was going to close off in my garage but don't want to screw into the roof/walls of the rental i been thinking of pcv and panda film and making 2 4 x 6 my biggest prob is a/c how do you holdup a a/c unit with "panda film" my garage is 95-100* 18hr's of the day and i dont need to cool the full 25 x 25
for a door i was going to over lap panda film from each side
pvc is as cheaper then wood screw/nail's

set it on some cinder blocks and just make a cut out in the film.

you could use some sheet insulation for a little addtion 'support', and just tape everything in place.

you can frame in 2X3's and use 2X2's for the 'studs' every 2-3 feet.
