Carbonated Water Question?

G

Guest

I once read that adding Carbonated Seltzer Water to plants gives them a boost of oxygen to the roots and promotes growth. Is this true? If it is true is it a good idea to give your plants regular watering with Carbonated water? Thanks & Peace SW

P.S. Also wondering if anyone has ever experimented with caffine in feedings. I was wondering how caffinated carbonated water would effect plants! lol just wondering what every1 thinks!

Hey Space... I want some of what you are smoking... never heard of it. Hydrogen peroxide will give them a little boost.

Oh, I forgot about hydrogen peroxide! Do you have a recipe for how much to use? Thanks for the reply! Is that like using that product Oxy-Cal?

How and what are you growing?

I think it's used sometimes for treatment of root problems... I don't have a regimen for it, although I did use it with a DWC grow.

wouldn't carbonated water contain carbon dioxide instead of oxygen ? "Carbonated" Water?

CO2 uptake occurs on the plant itself, not in the roots so I dont see any benefit.

lol, there have been a few times that I have neglected house plants & had to use carbonated water to revive them, never used it on MJ girls b4 tho. I am in the porcess of a setup, I just thought that maybe carbonated water would put some carb bubbles in the roots & make em happy. Maybe its a bad idea if I don't want fizzy herb! lol Thanks for the replys! Peace SW

I heard using seltzer water or carbonated water as a foliar spray helps give the plants co2 and promotes growth. sounds like it might work.

I agree that it releases Co2, not oxygen, and that can easily be proven, and if so.........

I think it would be useful on the leaves rather than the roots, but I am no scientist.
