Carbon scrubber size?

I have a 4x10x7 room with 2kw that I just put up. I also have a can66 filter from an old room, but thought it might be a little overkill. I realize that having a larger scrubber is never a bad thing, but would prefer something with a smaller footprint. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Dude, that's not overkill by any means. You'll have to have at least a 6" fan running full power through air cooled hoods. You could build a custom carbon scrubber to just about any dimensions.

For the record, you do not need to run a 6 in at full speed to air cool 2kw.

But I agree, it's not overkill on the scrubber. IMHO, you can never have too much odor control.

NiteTiger - I stand corrected. He may live in alaska. He he. But really, if he is doing all the room venting and light cooling with one fan, a 4" may make for some hot days during the summer.

Well, I'm coming from the aspect of TN, where we have, on a regular basis, 95F days in the summer.

I have a Vortex 8" that I got in anticipation of having to cool 2 kw, and I have it speed controlled now to about 200 CFM. Temps are 70F in the flower room. With a carbon scrubber.

That's why I say a full blast 6in isn't necessary.

One caveat though, I'm using cool tubes pulling from the room.

Thanks for the replies. I'll just stick with what I have. I can fit it in the room so why not use it?

Nite Tiger, sounds like a similar setup. I have a scrubber with 8" vortex on top pushing through my 60" cooltube. Hopefully this works well in my new room. The fan is on a speed controller as well... I found the fan was a bit too powerful for the can66 and pulled through too fast to clean the air.
