Carbon scrubber carbon

Hey peeps

Havent posted in MANY months...No grow for me since this time last year and since I'm getting started to setup a new grow I'd like to ask the pro's for their opinion

I'm planning a closet grow, 250w HPS for flower, approx 150w CFL's for clones, and I'm using low odor strains (C99 and NL)...Since I'm the apartment on the top floor of my building, I was planning on pulling thru a scrubber and venting into the attic

Here's my question...Does it make a difference what KIND of carbon you use? Seems like the carbon I see in the fish section of my local Wallyworld is pretty damn cheap...Stuff at the local pet stores is damn cheap also...If this type is used, is there anything I should look for on the label to ID the "good stuff"

Nice work here peeps...DAMN SWEET to be "back in business" again :jump:

I have made several carbon scrubbers and always use the stuff from walmart or the pet store. It should say activated carbon on the container. It is the same stuff used in fish tanks.

My scrubber cost 20-30 bucks to build, the res of your cost is fan and any vents you need, I run a 750 cfm shop fan on it. My thread is listed in the diy sticky if you want the design.
