Carbon Filter question:)

Hi! I've got a Mountain Air carbon filter 300mm x 800mm. I'm wondering what is the average life span of a CF that is continuously scrubbing hot dank. Also does it preserve the filter at all to switch it off at lights off/ not in use? I've never used one long enough to find out:biggrin:
TIA and if this info is already posted elsewhere just point me the way :thank you:

I'm not familiar with that brand but know of the size..lol

whats kills them quick is the humidity they suck up during operation,

it clogs the granules,

so avoid using it during extended rain storms or even in fog

I use a small 6 inch fan when its lights out to offer the plants,

a slight breeze to remove excess 02 from the leaf zone,

with the carbon filter coming on with the lights

look to modifying the case by including some removable cap,

so you can drain out the used carbon for the fresh stuff

you got at the local fish pet store

good luck

on average if you have the minimum sized carbon filter for your space, a year usually the standard. but humidity and level of stank will def lower the life expectancy.
