Carbon filter help!

I have a 2000 watt grow going just into flowering and its getting a little stinky in here. I picked up a vortex 8" exhaust to vent the 4"x8" room but having a problem finding a carbon filter to fit the 8". I see alot of 6" ones like this one from ebay but not sure if its ok to hook it up to the 8" vortex. The flange on the carbon filter is 6", flange on vortex is 8". If this wont work together, where else can I find a place thatll sell them that is stealthy? Thanks guys I gotta pick up something as soon as I can.

Nice site! My 8" vortex runs 747 cfm. I wonder if I can get the Can75 which has the 8" flange as well. It says 600 cfm and the Can100 has a cfm rating of 840. Dont know if I should just get the bigger one for the extra money or if it would actually be better to run the smaller one? Thanks for the site! What did others use in this situation?

When scrubbing odors out of air, you want the lowest aidflow possible. This keeps the contaminated air in contact with the carbon (odor killing media) longer, gettin a better scrub.

Go with the CAN100.

There are other distributors out there, I just havent searched them all out.

Thanks man! Ill go with that one then. Ill shop around and see what kind of prices I can find although that site has free shipping over $150 so it works out to be a fair deal anyways. Thanks again!

Take a look at my simple scrubber thread on the next page here, I use it on a 750, DIY for 20-30 bucks in an hour.

Is that a duct-bend taped onto a netpot? How large is your netpot and how large is your room? Do you think this works worse, better or the same as a DIY can-filter-type scrubber? Also, what's your construction guide for this?

Yep, the build thread is in this forum, and the link is in the sticky above. This unit uses 3 sizes of net pots, because I had them, tape, vent filters, and 3 liters of activated carbon. I designed this over 2 years ago, works great, last for about a year before I start noticing any smell. You could make a dollar store model, just find shapes with holes that work together. This handles a thousand cubic foot room fine. Never used a store bought one, so I have no basis for comparison, but I designed this as an improvement on them, it is what I do for a living, eh?
