Carbon Filter Experts anyone?

Im currently running 1 carbon filter and still cant seem to keep my odor under control. Im currently using my carbon filter as an exhaust to clear out co2 in my room at night. it comes on 3 times throughout the night and it should be clearing the odor, i dont know why i can still smell it outside the building. Also, can you guys let me know how long you run your filters for? and how many are needed depending on the room size

What size scrubber? Bigger the better if you are in a public area. What is your rh? If your humidity level is too high the scrubber wont work properly. I recommend multiple scrubbers for odor in late bloom. I run a free standing unit inside the room just to cycle the air itself.

Best scrubber in town has got to be the marriage of CAN150 (the 5' filter) with a 14 inch fan (1823 cfm), suspended from the ceiling that runs 24/7. Zero odors!

Cheers!

What brand, age, size filter? Fan? Your room cubic footage? And why are you having to exhaust CO2 at night? Are you running CO2 at night? How is it all set up? -granger

When your filter is on it's off cycle is when the smell is getting out. If it were to run 24/7 at a slow speed it will keep a negative air pressure in the room to the only so exiting will be the scrubbed air that's going thru the filter

i was having this problem intermittently before i switched to a closed loop ac co2 system. one time it was fixed by blowing my light exhaust through a carbon filter. one time it was tiny leakes in the the seems in the house of the fan and i fixed by taping. one time it was pinholes in the ducting. one time it was the tape seam, which by the way is the worst way to join that shit. try giant industrial zip ties with the tool hvac guys use to cynch them down. when exhausting into an enclosed space that vents to the outdoors the leak can take a long time to dissapate because you contaminate a large volume of airspace and then slowly leak that out versus straight to the outdoor where it clears quickly. these all made it hard to pinpoint. i felt like smell control was like a game of whack-a-mole til i closed the loop.

scrubbers should be run 24/7 that's how they are designed to be used. I use mine as a recirculation (36 x 12). I have used smaller witch also worked. This one should last longer

not sure of the brand its like a year old, and its a 12" fan im pretty sure. my co2 is set to be at 1000ppm then shuts off then at night its atmospheric(400-500ppm) i just run it after the lights go out to exhaust co2 buildup from the daytime. Its exhausting into my shop and out some vents i cut.
