Cant use bold, smilies etc

Hi, sorry to be a pain but when I try and use any of the toolbar features or click on a smiley the page just flashes to the top and nothing happens.
Not the most computer literate person and I'm using firefox.
I'm sure it worked in a post only a day or two ago<smilie would have gone here lol

if it is a thread with LOTS of pictures
i have to wait untill every single one fully opens before i can add any smilies
its ok for me, i have nothing but time sometimes
i like to burn one when i wait too
