my waters PH from the tap is 7.2-7.3 i add 1 tsp per gal water pbp grow, 2 tsp per gal water liquide karma, 2-3 tsp per gal water diamond necture, 2tsp per gal water sweet 1 tsp calmag+ and my ph drops to only 6.9 then i drop my waters PH to 6.4-6.5. ive never checked my runoff no real need to my plants are happy and healthy :rasta:

Hey Sour,

Shocked to hear you've got this issue! Rarely do I find those actively seeking a method in which to get their water's pH HIGHER than 7.9... heheh

Rest assured, it is possible though I wouldnt really recommend it. Something else is amiss here if your runoff is low.

Chances are good you did not mix enough lime into the soil. This is where I'd recommend you tweak your attack slightly and instead of going for the water, go for the soil. Add more lime via water delivery along with 1tbspn of epsoms to give that added Calcium punch....

It will take a bit to really affect things, but I think you'll be way more satisfied with this method vs constantly dumping pH UP in water....

Exactly. You could add dynagro protekt in ro and you'll hit the high 9's in pH. NOT that I would reccomend something like that.
Your lime is either too big, too fresh or you pH meter is whack.
If your tap is that high it's basicaly liquid lime.
You'd never want your run-off above 6.8 anyway.

hey sour heres a question what are you using to check your PH a PH meter or PH test strips. if ya use a PH meter when was the last time your meter was calibrated ????

i use a hanna non waterproof PH meter cost me 50$ us i calibrate my meter once a month to keep it tip top and dead on.

but as mentioned wouldnt recomend PH 8.0 for canibis, canibis like's a PH range in hydro of 5.4-5.8. canibis like a PH range in soil of 6.0-6.5 if you go above or below these ranges your bound for trouble mainly nutrient lockout and sick plants as a result.
alot of todays soil comes PH buffered range of 5.5-6.5 my fox farm ocean forrest soil dose so has other's i've used . you can use dolimite lime as a PH buffer for soil when new soil with it in your runoff will be approx 7.0-7.2, as time grows on the dolimite lime will be washed out of the soil. your runoff will begin to drop as a result usally this happens 45-60 days in the same soil.

the run off is at 6.8 when the water going in is at around 8 and i have added the lime almost 4 weeks now i am using promix and the plants seem to be in serious need of mag but they cannot use it unless the ph is above 6.5 right? i was under the impression that u want to be at 6.8 in soil
